Another day, another set of Vega results see the light of it. It would seem like this saga has been going on for ages, ever since we've seen AMD showcase its prototype Vega cards running Star Wars Battlefront (4K, Ultra settings at over 60 FPS) and Doom (4K, Vulcan render path at over 60 FPS on pre-production hardware). But with the lack of official information coming from AMD (let's hope this changes on May 16th), it would seem the company is content to see us hardware news sites jumping at every detail and offering free publicity.

This is known to be Vega because the device ID, 687F:C1, was spotted on AMD's own hands while running that Doom demo in 4K. The device clocks seem to be in line with previous leaks: a 1200 MHz core clock and 8GB of video memory running at 700 MHz memory clocks. With these clocks (which are expected to be extremely conservative when we take into account what we know of Vega), the Vega video card manages to deliver a 17,801 points graphics score, approximately 1,400 points more than your average Fury X, but some hundreds less than your average, current-generation GTX 1070. Remember: AMD's MI25 is expected to come in at 1,500 MHz core clocks, and this is a professional, passively-cooled graphics card. This means that unless AMD greatly overestimated the clock capability of its Vega cards, the consumer version of Vega will have necessarily higher clocks. But we'll stay here, waiting for some more details to pour our way, as always.

Kind of answered your own question. If the M125 is Vega based and passively cooled and manages to get a higher clock than this 3DMark one was tested at then it must either be an engineering sample or not Vega at all.

I'd guess there is going to be three Vega SKUs and this is the bottom one. That would fill out their lineup perfectly with the RX 480 right on the 1060, this bottom vega at or above the 1070 when fully clocked, middle vega around the 1080, and big vega around the Titan Xp.

Didn't we already have the discussion about the 1200Mhz Vega.

I'd guess there is going to be three Vega SKUs and this is the bottom one.

Way back when AMD showed the card running DOOM, it was the above ID and the AMD rep at the time said words to the effect, that was the flagship card. That's the only ever AMD affiliated stated performance category given publicly about the Vega demo cards.

Well, next month the dust will settle and we'll be able to see this mythical beast.

No doubt Vega will come with several different models so the question remains as to which model is it that was tested.

A bit off topic, but I haven't seen a single 1070 doing 21.000 and above. My own 1070 scores only 19704 (overclocked +100 mhz on the core). But still, this vega 10 card seems to underperform compared what were expected.

price/performance is what I need to know... it is like with Ryzen - of top Ryzen would cost 1000$ - it would be thew biggest fail since Bulldozer, but now - the price made Ryzen a winner... but I have a bad feeling about Vega tough, - I think that AMD will price a GTX1070 like perfomance Vega with exact GTX 1070 price tag (why I think that? - because of RX 480 aka 580 - if Vega would be price cometitive this RX 580 rebrand would be complete useless and Vega would canibalise RX 580 and 570)

Vega will come in several different SKUs from high end to low end. It looks to me like the info found is from a low end Vega and not the Vega shown earlier in the year.

Wasn't Vega 10 supposed to be the lowest end Vega card? Nothing really surprising here, then. Not even the responses in this thread. :wtf:

Does your gtx980ti do more then 60 fps in doom dx12 at 4K with ultra settings?

Dunno, I don't have Doom, but I suppose not.

As @PowerPC said, if this is supposed to be the "low" end vega, this is actually pretty good.

I think AMD is sandbagging here. For starters judging by recent events, they did with Ryzen and 2 the teraflops. The information we have solidifies that Vega is a 12.5 tflop card. Granted Nvidia replaced the 980ti with the 1070, AMD could be doing the same to furyx. I'll throw this out there and say that there might actually be 4 Vega skus based on Vega 10. AMD has been real secretive as of late and have been known to hold a surprise or two every launch...it wouldn't surprise me though that Vega fill the following price points:$350, $500, $650 and $800

There could be some merit to this leak though, albeit a controlled leak if you asked me. AMD is testing the waters and getting feedback and tinkering little by little, i just hope this launch is not anything like Ryzen. Please send the cards out on time and give reviewers the necessary time needed to properly test these gpus.

No? Vega 10 is the arch name, it's supposed to be at least on par with 1080ti (again, supposed), why do i have the feeling you got it all wrong?

According to an April's fool slide if it become true.

1.6GHz Clock could archive amazing performance.

Maximum pixel rate = 1.6GHz x 64 = 102.4 Gpixel/sec
Maximum texel rate = 1.6GHz x 256 = 409.6 Gtexel/sec

OMG!

Seems good for me but I will still wait for reviews and official release. If it appears competitive within the price tag, I'm getting the top Vega card I can get :)

At least compare with a result using the same processor to get a somewhat relevant conclusion.

We are talking about the "Graphics score" which makes the CPU irrelevant.

Im pretty sure if you dont have a cpu pushing that gpu then the points are lower. However given im wrong i still seem to find ost 1070s in the range of 18000 points unless they are in the range of 2100mhz core clock
