oh well @erocker @Ahhzz @Thimblewad let's have a Crossout thread to share screens, build and thought on the game (and try to appeal other potential fellow TPU members in )

the main, excellent, idea in that game is customisation, from parts (weapon,frames,wheel,cabine) to paint, there is literally no boundaries for creativity and fun

my own oddball .... not really original more like a StuG TD based on a pickup truck

not really efficient but fun to build

also PVP mode, i find it quite balanced (for now) as even with a lower PS (Powerscore) if you drive the right way you can put in pieces higher PS player, PVE well basic but fun (for coupon and copper farming, albeit the daily fuel limitation )

to me it's more MadMax and RAGE together ... MadMax being 1st reference tho ... since Twisted Metal would be second before rage (tho i never liked TM ... thanks to the support it was on .... my fault ahah)

The game is great, BUT:
1) You must not be creatively retarded. My imagination is somewhere between zero and -5 millions, so I am unable to build shit
2) The battles are so short the whole game gets old pretty quickly.

Heheh. I've been wondering about changing my Hunter into a 6-Steering wheeled box to mount a BangBang on. I tried a few rounds with one just popped on the top, and ran out of ammo in a big hurry, which made me worse than useless. I'm almost to 7 (if I didn't hit it last night and forgot), so I should have enough to make it a 6-wheeler.

Ran my first raids last night as well. I didn't like the defend as much as the gathers and I'm sure I'm being inefficient as hell with my games. I wasted a good 15-20 games the first night without a fuel tank, don't know what the hell to do with Coupons, and can't seem to figure out how to merge/meld equipment together to make a better model.... *sigh*

Still, as annoying as it can be, it makes a good break from my non-stop BDO since last march. I was using Insurgency, but they added extra anti-cheat software, which annoyed me, so I stopped that. L4D2 was getting just too boring. I needed something good which let me shoot things/people/zombies, different, and FREE. Playerunknown looks promising, but I really can't spend any loose cash on games right now. Too many bills as it is

well as you can see with a mere 2100+ PS i did top score out of the 2 3k+ that were with me tho i only run cargo raid ... not much for defend and assault one .... might try later

also, the Hunter cabine is not really for 57mm ... i prefer the Docker so i can mount 2 MG in addition instead of 1


and i did a VW 1 build afectuously named Unimog (mostly because of the look, and not because VW since Unimog is Daimler )


i am pretty standard if we except the reverse double pickup type

i didn't spend a dime since i started and don't feel the need to ... ok it's grindy but boatload of fun ....

just for support i might take the lowest priced pack next month but nothing too sure ... (tho at 9.99€ it's not a biggie but that's the only one, the other are .... hum ... uninteresting )

It would probably get a bit too grindy (especially with all the grinding I do on BDO), but for at least a few weeks if not longer, this will definitely provide some fun

5 MG+cooler or 2 57mm to try for fun ...

changing position on the 57mm give it a more stable trajectory ... well it seems the ballistic arc physics is only with "the obviously standard position" .... putting them sideways also reduce the vertical recoil and you can almost do 4 shot at the same place without re moving as much as if in standard position ...

since the Jawbreaker is slow ... 6 directional wheel (ST) chassis + just some addition to protect the carjack and fuel tank (completely hidden under the chassis between the middle wheels is more efficient than in pick up deck with platting around) make up for the limited arc and the slow speed is actually an advantage (well it's not that slow ... in the 5x MG configuration it was quite great )


tho that put me in the almost 3300PS category (the defeat in the 1st screen was in 5xMG configuration ... i was gifted by a team of blind rusher that forgot to defend ... well... even with that one alone versus the half of the other team: impossible .... tho i was surprised how resilient it is versus 57mm and 88mm canon )

with 6x if you have 4 st best for handling will be to place st front and back row and non st at the mid between them. if you have only 2 st it will be better to keep non st rows as close as possible and st row far at the back.

i've tried some modified factions and my own designs and by far the most i like for handling and stability is wide non st front row and st row at the back with closer wheels. iirc i have 2x 4by4 frame between front wheels and single 4by4 at the back

(aka with a bunch of fools/hotheads using canon too and a non adapted frame ) even short radius turning for when someone try to ram you from the side or behind, get the crosshair on : PBS (well if that one was a little faster i would do : RAM-PBS )

I'll see if I grabbed a screenshot from last night. I had a cannon mounted on top, and a shotgun semi-protected in the back (long bed, van back and side for rear protection, shot floor-mounted) so when they got past me or to the side, I simply kept turning and opened up with the shotty until I could get all the way around to open up point blank with the cannon heheh

i think i've found my favorite cabine and build ...

the Jawbreaker was a bit too early to be useful with the rest of my parts i have in stock ...so i sold it to get a Wyvern instead ... and in that configuration ... it's not bad at all .... (raid cargo race configuration mostly ... didn't try in pvp )

"top heavy" .... like my Ex .... although she never turned over .... i wonder why

i love the ingame music but ....

that one has a good vibe for PVP (obviously since its Mad Max: Fury Road song by Miracle Of Sound )

1st craft since i started : Autocanon 20mm, it did actually cost me more to build than if i bought it on market ... damned workshop rent fees ...


not too bad (2nd screen: fun, even in lost match still MVP possible which is strange since the other team has also a MVP but with a lower score )

4x blue shotguns with 2x purple coolers gas gen and a carapace 6x apc wheel sts, close to 2k structure



Placing an order for purple shotguns now, to run 3x I suppose, lose one gun but won't get degunned as easily.

technically crafting is a loss, under epic quality ... for starter player it's a bit painful, thus buying an item on market after reselling raw material is often more economic than renting a workshop for crafting it yourself ... (just like a DiY crate is useless since most of the time you get more creds for selling it closed than trying to get stuff with it .... i opened a few and one had even more blues and epics than commons in the list but still got the cheapest common instead )
they need to revise the workshop renting system .... and probably up a bit the limits on the ticket in raid ... that and revise the difficulty of the said raids in Medium and Hard ...

tho i am not one to whine about drone .... strangely ... they don't bother me and i regularly get the "Exterminator 1/2/Split/Strike/Everybody down" sticker (got a "resistance is futile" but only once ... it's counterproductive ) if people have no aiming skill or just like to drive ... let them have turret/drones/Caucasus to compensate

practical example: why would i pay 750 credit for 5 work, meaning 150 creds per work done, to craft one paint container which cost 450 scrap 50 wires 50 copper that would probably not contain the paint i want, when the paint i want is less than 50 creds on market


my new build is pretty much an alrounder ... not too frail, thought lacking a bit in firepower but still steady and getting good result regularly
