ID-Cooling looks to retain its dominance in the entry-level air cooler market with the SE-224-XTS series. These successors to the stalwart SE-224-XT showcase exceptional looks, solid performance, and an improved noise profile while still delivering tremendous performance per dollar.

I have the SE-224-XT ARGB V3 version on my 12100F since 2022 marc or so and its been issue free ever since and its plenty enough for this range of CPU + its silent with the default fan speed.
Most likely I'm keeping this cooler for my planned upgrade whenever that is, should handle a 12400F just fine and possibly a 13400F. 'Tho I will have to check the real power draw/heat on that first'

When I bought an aftermarket cooler I did not have many options for LGA 1700 coolers at the time and out of the few in my budget range this looked decent and so far I can't complain. :)

Hey great review, always good to see new reviews here @ TPU
Any chance @crazyeyesreaper we could get a review of a (themalright) Peerless Assassin 120 (SE fits 1700)
Ta :)

I second this - or even the Frost Commander 140 (a beast of a cooler for cheap).

224-XT can already hit the all-core boost speeds on the 12600k so you should easily be fine with the 12400/13400 (those chips run like 400-500mhz slower than the xx600K which makes them extremely efficient for heat/power). Most people can hit the all-core boost frequency on the 12400 for example on the stock cooler

I got the 224XT-basic for my 5600x after reading the review here and i'm happy with it.
Only weird thing is adding a second fan makes it "whistle"

Using the SE-226-XT + 2x Phanteks T30 for my new 13900K build, I'm tired of custom watercooling :p

Probably gonna beat almost all 240mm AIO with stock fans out there :D
