Hello people i am from India, and India's best keyboard company is selling a mechanical keyboard for only 30$ [But it has no media keys / macro keys / etc.. ]
It's just a cheap 5$ keyboard but with mechanical keys!

Will it be a signifact jump going from membrane keys to mechanical keys ? [I'm a gamer and a coder]

Also will i have ghosting issues while playing with the USB version ? Should i wait until PS/2 Version comes into stock ?

Here's the link: http://www.flipkart.com/tvs-e-gold-bharat-usb-2-0-keyboards/p/itmdmesyegqzqgm6

USB shouldnt be a problem, no ghosting issues these days.

they dont say what switches are used, so i cant offer any advice on what it might actually be like.

Lots of unknowns there. No mention of which Cherries they're using, no mentioning of ghosting..

It probably the buckling spring style keys which are common on low end mechanical keyboards. I almost ordered one like this off ebay for 20$

that would make a lot of sense. never used one of them however to know how good they are.

If you have ever used a old IBM AT keyboard then its about the same.

"Click" and "tactile" so it must be MX blue, unless I am mistaken.
IIRC, MX switches are like follows:
switch type | clicky | tactile
Red | no | no
Black | no | no
Blue | yes | yes
Brown | no | yes
Clear | no | yes
its really good.. btarunr our editor here has it.

but noisy.

holy crapoly its cherry mx swtiches
imma get one too XD

Thanks for the input, does it make a difference if it's a USB model / PS/2 Version ?

I want to be able to press as many keys at once, because i play a game called GunZ where specific combos can-not be made unless you can press many keys at once [ eg: shift + w + w + a +s +q + left click + e + r + c + space all together or in a very small amount of time interval]

i dont think we can answer that. you can always get the USB keyboard and use a USB to PS/2 adaptor

So by using the adapter the USB limitation will be removed and it will act like a PS/2 connection ?

i've heard that about other mechanical keyboards, it should behave the same here.

ps/2 is better right?

PS/2 is better when your USB ports are busy with printer, web cam etc. and also for full NKRO but i read somewhere that this KB (TVS-e Gold) on PS/2 support only up to 8 keys at once.

Edit: Your PS/2 Keyboard is back in stock and i will recommend it if you do less gaming and more coding.

Actually i do more of gaming and less of coding, also it is in stock but that retailer doesnt deliver in my area :(

I also want a mechanical keyboard :toast: and and i live in patna and i researched about this keyboard a month ago and found out that it is just ok for gaming[some said it is great and some said it is not good] :banghead: and great for typing but if you really short on cash like me then you should buy this keyboard and yes you should go for USB version if cannot wait.

I have started to save money for Cooler master quick fire pro(Rs.5500) and if in luck super expensive Corsair K70(Rs.8500). :rockout::rockout::rockout:

this is the cheapest mechnical keyboard. it has MX cherry switches!

I confirmed from a pro at geekhack.org and found that this board is only 2KRO, hard to believe but yes it will suck for gaming.

I think i'll sacrifice and make do with my cheap 300RS [5$] Microsoft keyboard :(
