When a PC is idle, some fans might run at 0 RPM.

When used on a high-end enthusiast idle system, does a good AIO s' pump ever "stop" and become silent?

not they don't but they also don't run full noise all the time like this does the good thing is the pump cover is thick enough to soundproof it quite a bit so it's barely audible

I don't know why deepcool bothered with the "infinity mirror" look it's not as good as it's made out to be if looking straight at it all you see is the single outline of 2 and a bit squares and 1 rectangle it's only when viewed from an angle that you see the extra reflections which is sucky to be honest and it doesn't perform well on my R7 5800x when OC'd to 4.75GHz all core

idle is 42c and load is 88c and as for the fan noise even in an enclosed case (O11D XL) it was loud ASF i ended up replacing the fans in less than a week with the Lian Li Uni Fan SL120 kit much quieter with the same temps

Thanks, Athlonite.

In CPUID HWMonitor (or equivalent), is there a metric that shows pump activity? Useful to see if a pump is running nominally, or is slowing down due to age. I have no idea if, in general, AIOs even report this in some way.

If the board has a 4 Pin header with a pump with a 4 pin then the CPU header. Otherwise some boards have a 3(4) pin just for that. Some Gigabyte boards actually have pump functions on all of the fan headers. Some AIOs also come with a USB header to monitor RPMs and temps and SATA power. It all depends on your AIO or MB. If your AIO is slowing down you will see a direct increase in temp. It's not like they have a reservoir being cooled by the case fans.

If I understand you, for an all-new PC with an idle CPU - the pump motor runs at s%. But, as the years roll by, and the pump ages, for the same idle temp goal to be maintained the response curve will have the pump run at (s+x)%.

If I base my observations on a steady idle CPU temp alone, I might never know it's because the pump is more active than when new, if the AIO fans are also still at their new speed.

I was waiting for this review.

Was undecided between the LS720 and LT720.

LT720 it is then!

mine is brand new only a week old it runs at full speed all the time as I said it does not ever slow down below 3100rpm

If you live in an area that gets hot I wouldn't recommend the LT720 you'd be better served with something that has a bigger radiator something over 30mm thickness

What is this? Didn't manufacturers learn the lesson of not mixing metals in a water loop?

This handles 13900ks with mce up boosting up to almost 350w out of the box in my case with only 2 cores throttling up & down and switching between 5.6 and 5.5.
Manual OC (bit lower voltages than mce auto) up to 3 core 6.3 and all core 5.7 pretty easily (altho with different fans but those are limited to 2000rpm max)

What would you recommend? I was thinking about this AIO but are there AIO with bigger rads then this?

Arctic's Liquid Freezer II.
Yeah I would have prefered to buy that but it wasn't available here in Gougelandastan at the time I wanted it so I went with the LT720 instead sorta regretting it now

Can't you regulate pump speed with the pump header on your motherboard?

Can't you regulate pump speed with the pump header on your motherboard?
nope the header is only 3 pin and it doesn't respond to adjustments whether using Lconnect or in the bios or Armoury crate
in the bios if you set it to anything other than 100% and move to the next box it automatically jumps straight back to 100% but it doesn't really matter because it's so quiet you can't hear it anyways the fans make more noise than the pump
