I have a question that I am unable to find an answer to, so the 3090ti comes with the 16 pin plug, but the adaptor it comes with is 12 pin leaving the 4 sense pins not doing anything, obviously the card operates like this but my question is would we gain anything from using a proper psu that has the sense pins or will they not do anything on the 3090ti, I know on 4090 if you use the adaptor it comes with and only connect 3 of the 4x8 pins you get limited to 450w but if you connect the 4th you get the full 600w, would this happen with the 3090ti or would we still be limited by the Vbios power limit

the sense IC is in the adapter not in the psu
I would assume that the card would limit itself to 450W as thats part of the 12vhpwr spec and not specific to the gpu
if the psu is big enough just get a 4 way adapter instead of the 3 way
whether or not more TDP is going to improve performance who knows
