Ive passed on that drive multiple times. Im just not sold on SSDs yet. The fact that it has been reposted week in and week out makes me hesitant as well ;)

On the one hand I can see how it's not really worth it just to boot faster, but it may speed up browsing. I'd just hate having to pick and choose what apps to put on there.

Ha. Yeah maybe so.

totally man. win 7 takes up like 14gb so not alot of room left for even the essentials..

I dont think its viable to own a SSD just yet. The price/performance ratio just isnt that great.

even though i never owned a SSD i can still agree with that. those things are pricy as heck.

Probably better off heading to Frys and picking up one of the Caviar Black 1TB drives for $99. Room and good performance :D

Yeah I live few miles away from Frys :D. I had a WD for days and this thing keeps on working. It will be ok to install OS on a 1TB? Will it be faster on a 500GB drive with the same speed?

You could partition the drive to make it easier for you to manage (backing up data, OS re-installs, ,etc). I moved from a basic Seagate 500GB IDE drive to a Samsung 1TB F1 and a WD 1TB Green for storage and things seem speedy enough for my tastes. As long as you can live with never breaking 5.9 on WEI you should be fine :D

Ha. yeah i can live with that. ;)
My WD is at 5.4 right now so I wouldnt mind the extra 0.5 :toast:

buy it and resell it. Profit. :p

yay, buy a few and RAID0 em!

What's the warranty like on it? Guessing 1 year correct?

Im with you on this one. Im not 100% sure about SSD's yet. I know a lot of people here run them, and run them well, the numbers are awesome. But Im just not quite sold on the longevity of them yet. A few years down the road I might make the change. Right now my WD VRaptor's are all I need.

Such SSD would only be useful for netbook running Linux or Windows XP. With not much option to download anything big...
