So I got my AMD Athlon 3500+ Venice. I maxed it out at 2.83, not really that stable but if I don't run things like Oblivion it works for everyday tasks. I used stock Volts on the 2.83, and an FSB of 258 I'm pretty sure(ill double check)Right now I'm running my lower clock because Oblivion crashes at the 2.83. My temps are 30-31 load, so heat is not the issue, you can see my specs in "my specs" I know I'm missing something, wondering if you guys can help me push it further, maybe even 3:rolleyes:

vcore is your issue. bump your ram up to 2.8ish and run memtest on it.

I did change the V core and It just wouldn't boot windows, and I gotta check in my BIOS where to change the ram's bandwidth, think its just the RAM that needs to go higher along with the V core?

yeah, raise voltages and you'll get a better overclock. did you also raise ram voltages? you are now overclocking the ram, and ram really won't clock as well as a cpu will.

Well, the V core alone doesn't do it, the RAM has been stock, Ill change up my RAM And see what happens, and sorry this really should be in overclocking.

Well until I started having random issues with my comp, I had mine running 2.75ghz with ram at 250mhz.

Drop the ram to the 180mhz muliplyer and raise ram voltage to 2.8v. bring the cpu up to 1.4v and try that.

alright, Im back on the average 2.83, my RAM was down now I remember I put it to 2.5V because thats what the RAM is supposed to be defaulted at, so now its at 2.66. FSB is 257. and where (if anyone knows my BIOS) do I change my RAMS bandwidth? or what should I look for. Sorry, never really tweaked my RAM much before.

in the overclocking menu (with fsb, voltages etc) its the very top option. Set it to 180mhz or something. You will understand when you see the options.

ok 2.84 with just changing the FSB, :toast: I'm at a 258 FSB, going to do some more wish me luck. and thanks kenny I'll check that out this restart

ok 2.85! Changed my CPU volts to 1.37 and RAM volts to 2.68. I dropped the RAM to the 180 multiplier and it wouldn't boot like that, Its back to the default. So Ill see where it can go from this clock, and do you guys wanna see CPU-Z or something?

You should stabilize it at 2.8 before you go higher. No sense in having a fast, unstable CPU.

I got it stable now at the 2.83 with slightly moded Volts. I cant get he 2.5 to stabilize
