3870x2 Vs 4870x2

Hi guys has anyone heard or seen how much faster the 4870X2 will be vs the 3870x2 ? for i want to get one but dont know how much of a performence hit I will take if i get the 3870x2 vs waiting another 3 months for the 4870x2.....ive been looking for a few houres and I cant find fu** all about the difference in game performence...for I have one 8800gt now and want to go crossfire with my m3a32-mvp deluxe soon...Thanks all...Steve

There is no real information on 4870x2 since it's not released yet. If you want crossfire, go out and get a couple HD 4850's. They are released and there are plenty of good reviews for it.

Ok sounds good to me...is the 4870 much better than the 4850 ?

we arent for sure. there's speculation on how much better it is. All we do know is that ATI/AMD said the performance delta between the two will be greater than that of the 3870/3850

wow thats going to be pretty nutzzz....I cant seem to find a location with future shop that has the 3850...And im going to use my future card to get them ,,,anyone perhaps know of the future shop that has them?

I use as high as the game goes for res...and my monitor is a acer 17" AL2017

With a 17" monitor you don't need anything over a single 4850. Crossfire for benchmarks perhaps. Your monitor displays 1280x1024 correct?

HAHA Future shop is pretty well the only good store eround...it sucks..but they have the 3870x2 in stock ...are the 4850s better in cross them a 3870x2 ? cuzzz darnnnzzit I need cards ordered nowwwwwwww...

If your a crysis junkie why not just buy a single 9800gtx for 199.00 plus a free game it is slightly faster in crysis and the game was designed for geforce cards or better yet a 8800gts 512mb which is basically a 9800gtx anyways. both cards will match a 4850. Then if thats not enough power for you when the 4750x2 comes out get it. Anyother game but crysis i might say ati but thats a geforce game. Just as obilivion loves the 3870x2

well maybe the test were done with the 4850 using 3.6 cat but the 3870x2 used 3.5cat so don't be so sure. Neither are good with that game compared to a 9800gtx or 8800gts

If your a crysis guy buy a single 9800gtx it will just about max that game when overclocked. That will save you about 200.00 over a crossfire set up.
