5070 Ti power limit questions

I was able to compare the encrypted text in a lot of bios files on Techpowerup and found that there are essentially 2 bios file formats.

Unfortunately for me, my bios format is much less common. Of the 17 gigabyte 5070s ti bios files that increase max TDP, only one had the same bios file format as mine.

Luckily, its the 400w Aorus! So I'm finally unlocked and the card performs a little bit better (most importantly, I feel smart LOL). I might paste and pad the card, I'm unsure. Daily use at 3-3.1ghz is really dam nice already

If you have a Gigabyte card and are having issues finding a bios to flash your card with, try this bios file: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/276936/276936, all the other bios files that I checked had the same format as each other.

See the attached screenshots for how I compared these files. I circled the indicators that I used to find a compatible bios.

People can save a ton of time when flashing a new bios if they compare like this beforehand.

The big problem with Gigabyte is the following: aside from the issue of the thermal gel spreading when the card is mounted vertically, there's an additional problem, which is that some VRM components and other parts aren’t fully covered by the stock thermal compound.

For example, this happened with my AORUS Master 5070 Ti. I opened it up to replace that sloppy mess with Grizzly’s Pro Putty and later applied Conductonaut Extreme on the die. The final result was 15°C lower on the core and 13°C lower on the memory compared to stock.

Ouch, that is spotty. I've repasted two MB and two GPUs this spring and none of them were 100%, but none where that spotty.

It looks to me from my small sample set as the application and alignment of pads is governed by ease (read cost) of application rather than precision, the method Gigabyte has if they get the viscosity right might be easier to get right once tuned, if they bother to tune...

Hi. Which BIOS will work 100% perfectly with Palit Gamerock 5070 Ti non OC? Just 100% confirmed ones.

I think SFF cards are not cold enough for the 350 and 400W bios. My gigabyte 5070ti windforce was too hot, so i sold it. I will check Gaming OC if that has bigger cooler?

My Windforce OC was perfectly fine with 400W
I got +10 fps in cyberpunk at native 2k (DLAA, RT high, no PT) by switching 300w to 350w (~@3150-3230 core, 0.925v or 0.975v, seems more like it)
Now I'm power limited, event if I flash a 400w bios voltage would have to go up a little and I would be power limited again pretty quickly and it's fan noise and temps aside...
Were there any gains from additional 50w?
Upd: voltage

Not really to be honest. Absolutely marginal. Maybe some specific games or workloads might benefit but most do not.

Maybe i would buy again Gigabyte SFF as they don’t have coin whine and waterblock it. Exist a cheap compatible one?

Place this version of NVFlash in a folder on your desktop, and inside that folder, put the BIOS files you want to flash.

Important: Make a backup of your original BIOS using GPU-Z beforehand, just in case.

Although the original BIOS can often be found in the TechPowerUp BIOS database, it's always safer to back up your own.

Then, follow these commands exactly as written:

1- Run Command Prompt as Administrator and then copy and paste this:

2- cd %HOMEPATH%\Desktop\nvflash (and press Enter)

3- Make sure that the .rom file that you want to fash is inside the same nvflash folder.

4- (Optional) To list detected GPUs, type:
nvflash --list (and press Enter)

5- Now to disable GPU write protection, write this:
nvflash --protectoff (and press Enter)

6- Flash the BIOS (example using a file named GB203.rom):
nvflash -6 GB203.rom (and press Enter)
(If you have more than one GPU, use: nvflash --index=0 -6 GB203.rom)

7- Now press Y to confirm the BIOS flashing process and press Enter

Version I use and that works well for the 5000 series: NVFlash

I have gaming OC

is that may be my card have hynix GDDR7 while for Aorus bios is Samsung one ??

Hiya I followed this process but had the same results, attached is the success message after flashing with the attached bios. But when I reboot; the system is slow, unstable, and the 5070ti is nonfunctional. If I disable the gpu in device manager, the system is much more usable and I can check through gpu-z that it reports itself as the gaming oc model. i keep the gpu disabled in device manager and flash back to my original bios to reset and use the card again.

Thank you for your help here, you are amazing!
i got exactly the same message with my gaming OC and aorus bios
how can i fix it .. or its better to get back to original one ?

Yeah, it's borked, flash back the original
A gigabyte bios worked on my palit card, so I assume that would work for yours too
Asus 350W https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/275285/275285

My orginal bios is already 350 power limit
Look like i have to re flash the orginal one
I got 3240-3275 mhz in gaming with extra 3000 mhz for vram
As @webmanau replied earlier, there are little to no gains from a 400w bios compared to the 350w
IMHO there are no reason to cross-flash a card if it already has a 350w power limit

And the OC is also neat, I don't think you can go much higher than ~3300 mhz on the core
