5870x2 Release

I was under the impression the 5870x2 was to be released when Win 7 was released... I haven't been able to find any news on it... Any1 got an answer for me... I wanna get one of these babies into my PC

They dominate the market right now, I fear prices would be pretty bogus if they released it now with no competition. That and I think ATi know that people think Nvidia uses 'underhanded' or as some go as far to say, 'evil' tactics, and want to keep themselves looking ever better, and will release the X2 variant to combat whatever top end GPU Nvidia chalks up sooner or later.

It is funny now, but when they pull it off it *could* be an absolute monster, on paper it looks awesome, they fear it rightly so.

For now it looks like it will be a 5900, but for all intensive purposes an X2 seems to be the easiest way to refer to this celebrity of a card, its really sneaky and hard to get good pictures of

Why not just release the X2 now and when Fermi comes it won't be able to compete? I don't see the difference...

As it is right now, Fermi doesn't threat anyone.

HD5900 (aka HD5800X2) is coming out Q4 2009. Even if they don't need it right now, AMD wants to say they have the fastest graphics card in the world.
