Hi Guys
I have been facing a peculiar issue for a while now. I hav a Powercolor 6950, unlocked to a 6970 but have never played with the voltages and the clocks till date.
For the last few months, I keep getting a black screen at times and the display just stops working and I have to reboot the computer. I took out the motherboard tray from the case and re mounted everything, but yesterday, I faced the same issue twice. There is no particular program or anything that I can think of that causes the issue. I have updated to the latest CCC as well.
Now when putting things back together yesterday, I realised that the screw points on the PCIE plates and the case dont seem to match up very well. I still managed to use the PCIE screws and put everything back together.
I have installed blue screen viewer and can upload some of those reports, but is it possible that the card is not making enough contact with the PCIE lane due to the case being a bit off? Or can it be a software issue? It seems to be a bit more stable at times often going 15-20 days without an issue and then all of a sudden it starts happeneing again.
Any help or ideas would be great.
BTW, the card is on water.
