I am in the process of upgrading (as in I have ordered the parts and now I am waiting for the delivery guy
I will be installing an E2180 on an ASUS P5N32SLI Premium board with an OCZ Vendetta heatsink, 2 X 1GB OCS PC6400 4-4-4-12 memory, and a pair of 7900GT cards in SLI. Power comes from an Ultra Xfinity 600W SLI power supply. The 7900GT's have been volt modded to 1.5V and are running at 650/1700 at the moment with Zalman VF900 heatsinks. I plan on lapping the E2180 and the heatsink and have pretty good airflow in my Antec SLK3800 case with 120mm inlet and exhaust as well as an 80mm side port.
My question is, with these 7900GT's running in SLI will I be significantly CPU bound if I OC the E2180 up to >3.0GHz? The games I play mostly are BF2, BF2142, and GRAW.
Any comments or suggestions welcome.
