i found x850xts around $200 (oem starting at $213, lite retail $222, and full retail $229) on two sites they both still sell some versions around $400 excetp these.

http://www.allstarshop.com/shop/FindResult.asp?sid=0AMV9GLJHERH8PK7S2FG8QE4D9SA5008
and
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102483&CMP=OTC-pr1c3watch&ATT=14-102-483

I'm thinking of dishing out the $15 for the retail but these prices are so low i thought they may be referbed or something. the specs are the same everything i can find adds up but i don't know where to find the info on model numbers. and the sites don't mention referb.
Model #: 100106-RD oem
and
Mfg P/N 100106SR retail
Mfg P/N: 100106L lite retail
Mfg P/N: 100-435427-OEM

if anyone knows how to back track the model numbers or if one card is better in some way please share. the ati oem or sapphire oem or is the retail worth it for the cost of output connectors?

origionally i was going to do the 800pro mod but for $20
i may as well keep my warranty and get faster ram.

Thats about right these days. The x850 series isnt as powerful as a lot of other cards are these days. I would say it is pretty comparable to a 6800GS so thats why you see the price dropped since it cant keep up with a 7800GT.

i thought the 850xt could stomp a 6800 gs and clips at the heels of a 7800. i'm not loyal to either brand just the price point vs preformance.
i mostly do video work not much gaming anymore.
i've heard of interlacing issues with ati but i have a 9600 and no issues unless i use windows media player as a viewer under certain screen ratio settings. i'm not to worried about it. i just want the most bang for the buck i think the 8560xt maybe it.

but i think i found the one 850xt retail

x850xts , x850xtpe , x800 gto2 are all above 6800gs and gt , xt ............ so if u want to spend around 200 dollars on a card your best bet is x850 series or x800gto2 by sapphire , best bang for the buck IMO ! (GOOD OVERCLOCKERS TOO , and all are with 16 pipes )

x850xt is a faster card (partially cause it has 16pp instead of 12pp), but you dont get Shader model 3 on the x850xt. If your are going to OC the card I have seen that the 6800GS OCs better. Both cards perform the same either way, its just really preference. Also, the x850xt doesnt clip at the heels of the 7800GT...Its a nice gap. Just to check you are going PCI-E right...bc if you arent then you are going to have to go with the 6800GS.
