Probably have better luck with an HD4850 512mb at stock clocks or a 9800GTX+ with the latter probably being a fair bit more expensive. (nvidia old high end cards seem to hold their value for some reason) regardless of performance.
I have to agree with a previous poster on the cooler on the GPU.
Despite being after market, those coolers are total rubbish and the design was made to be cost effective but to the average consumer, they see bigger cooler therefore must be better.
I remember the same thing when I bought an XFX 8800GT xXx extreme edition with a Zalman VF830 thinking it would be better than the stock single slot.
Was I wrong.
