A Plague Tale Requiem is a fresh new action-adventure horror-survival game that comes with excellent graphics and gameplay. In our performance review, we're taking a closer look at image quality, differences between the setting presets, VRAM usage, and performance on a selection of modern graphics cards.

@W1zzard this game use a different DLSS 2.4.12 DLL than Spiderman Remastered, offering much better IQ too, can you host it?

I just tried this game for a few minutes, looks amazing, truly next-gen visuals

Thanks for the extensive benchmark, I was curious to see how this engine performs in more detail.
It seems to favor "wider" GPU architectures - note how Vega 64 has the same performance as a 6600XT, which should normally have something like a 30-40% lead.

Wow, that could be a photo (zoomed in from review pic) :

RTRT will really add something to this game I feel, especially considering the level of detail even just with baked lighting.

It's really demanding. I think it's too much for the RTX 3060 Ti and 1080p Ultra Settings.

Been playing it since the launch day.
2560x1080 Ultrawide and with the system under my specs it can hold 60+ fps most of the time on Ultra settings + DLSS on Quality which to my eyes actually look better than my native res but that might be a personal preference thing.

Also worth noting that the game can be both GPU limited in most places but at some places its actually a CPU hog.
For example the ACT 2 market area droped my GPU % usage down to ~75% and maxed out Core 1 at 97% but not all threads. 'I've read a review where a 3700x/3950x could only push 40+ fps in this same area with a RTX 4090'

It gets even worse once the swarm of rats show up, simply by looking at them can increase my CPU's load by ~40% and seen it pretty much maxed out at a specific scene droping my fps down to ~50. 'changing to low settings did nothing so clear CPU limit there'

So not only older/budget cards can struggle with this game but so does waker/older CPUs in general.

Game does look amazing tho and in overall I'm okay with the performance on my system since its not a fast paced game anyway.

Which GPU do you have in your system?

Its a RTX 3060 Ti, you can see my full specs under my name.:)

UW is definitely the way to go for this genre of game IMO. Very immersive.

Yeah its the main reason why I switched to UW in 2019 since I almost only play single player games and in those I prefer this ratio for the immersion it gives me. 'well it works for me so ye..'
At some points of the game I just stand around and look at the scenery/details, I wonder how its gonna look with RT once its added to the game but I assume my GPU won't like that at all.

Kinda funny but this game is actually more demanding than Cyberpunk..

This all feels very familiar. As soon as RT is added, DLSS is needed.

I know we're go gonna be seeing this for a while but man, these numbers sure are impressive.

Yeah, they are.

Just doesn't feel like a daily driver. Sorta like watching a funny car at the races, the numbers are impressive but would I drive one?

AMD has a window here where they can kill it in the midrange with RDNA 3. I'd like to see what they can do under 250W. We'll see.

Good news that they are still using their tech, i like the look of their engine and we need diversity in that field.
According to ElAnalistaDeBits Xbox SS is running at 1080p/30fps, with low settings a Ryzen 5 5600 + RX6400 should be able to do 1080p low 30fps depending the gain that low settings bring.

Was DLSS used in these benchmarks or not?

The craziest part is that I recall seeing an article in which someone from Nvidia said that there was room for a 4090 Ti.

looks decent, but its surprising to see a game like this that actually look better than doom : eternal m while using less vram maxed-out

if only the shader and geometry hit were not so intensive! going to have to upgrade my pascal card to have any hope

Turn off shadows, 1360x 768

The game has very nice graphics with the exception of the vegetation, but it feels disproportionately heavy tho

Yup and I'm pretty sure RDNA 3 is going to be the same! Let's just hope AMD gets really competitive with Performance & Pricing so NVIDIA can lower their prices ! (and releast a 4090 Ti)

I loved the 1st game! How's the new one so far?

Very keen to play this after how good the first was, also from what I gather the DLSS implementation/DLL file etc is outstanding in this game.
