I'm looking at getting this lappy and before I get it I want to do some kind or stress test or something of that sort that will test the computer and test how hot it will run at a high load <--extremely import to me on this lappy. I want one that runs pretty cool (for a higher end one)

Just for the info the lappy is a Asus G50.. I think the B1

So what kind of test can I get that will run off USB that wont have to install? or a fast and short install?

Grab occt and give that a run. Has both cpu test and gpu test and a very small and short install.

I think he is looking for something less evasive, something to run in DOS like Memtest but for the full system, at least thats my take on it.

Maybe UBCD or Hirens boot CD will have the tests you need?

That's the main thing I'm seeing.

If the processor is a dual core use Orthos.

orthos requires no install whatsoever, i think OCCT does.

Try installing OCCT onto the flash drive, and then running it on another machine. it may work.

thanks guys. The lappy I'm looking at it at Fry's Electronic and I work there so I could get away with installing a small program but would rather have one that could run off USB. also what is OCCT?
will it get the computer at a high/full load so it can heat up so i can see how hot it will get?

OCCT's linpack test will fry it to a crisp :)

in a good way.

OCCT can be run from a USb it wont put anything on the puter other than some log graphs in the doc folder, but you can turn them off in options.

I use it as my only stress test proggy alongside gaming.

Has memtest, cpu test, linpack (thermal test), PSU tes, GPU test...

But be really careful on a lappy, they werent designed for such things.

okay thanks everyone.

Yep, OCCT will run from a USB Flash Drive without install.
