ACC works on PII940 with Asus M3A79-T

Told by who?
It says in the M3A79-T Deluxe mobo manual that AMD recommends that you set the AUTO EXPRESS to Enabled for better performance..... who am I to argue against the Engineers? :pimp:

we are the ones that do the overclocking, tell them to hush! :p

Sorry I haven't had time to test, but im back to see how acc and the 940 play together... One thing I found is setting acc to anything besides disabled wont let ya monitor your cpu temps... It must disable the sensor on the chip... But anyways this is what the bios looks like with ACC on.... I hope there are some other 940 owners that can submit some of there findings with UNLEASHED mode enabled... *note* unleashed mode wont appear till you set ACC to anything but disabled :toast:

I will try this when I get home tonight. Mine would boot with auto just fine so will see about making it +2 on all cores. I cant get 3.7 or 3.8 100% stable its running at 3.6 now I switched memory sticks too G-Skill 1066. Will have a go and post what I get if any thing.

Edit:Well I am a bit unsure since you say that you cant monitor your temps now.

I would be more worried about the data on my drives more than anything. Plus, I don't think there is any real benefit to overclocking the PCI-E bus. I haven't really messed around with it for a while, maybe something has changed.

Tru dat. I clocked my PCI-E bus to 125MHz on my DFI LanParty 590SLI board and I had to reformat (corrupted my hard drive). There's no reason to overclock the PCI-E bus, espically if you're using 2.0

Not worth the risk if I dont know what the temps are. I tried +2 wouldnt even boot with my board at least. Auto it boots and below is the screen shot so I guess is a no go on the DFI board.

I decided to be daring....

I guess so Flyordie  do any programs read your temps at all they didnt for me at least.

you dfi owners have an option in the bios called Unleash mode?
I cant see it till I set ACC to auto or per core

Ad any update on your video cards?

I hit a new high for a single 4890 with acc on +2 :D... not to bad id say.
oh and i dropped the pci-e down to 100mhz from the 125 mhz setting i've been running for so long

I didnt see any option called Unleashed could be just for Asus. I can boot on auto but if I cant get the temps to show up right not worth the gains. I am still on air will have to look and see if any new options come up.

I'd recommend against using unleashing mode on a 940BE. Asus' unleashing mode is designed to unlock cores on the Phenom II x3/x4 and 45nm Semprons, unlock L3 cache on the Phenom II x4 8xxx series (and Deneb based Athlon II x4 series), and in rare case unlock the multiplier on Athlon II x2 series.

Although, there is an effect on changing the percentage values of ACC (without enabling Unleashing mode).

I kinda had my suspicions about unleash mode unlocking cores....thanks for the advice mate :toast:

Temp Sensors all work for me.
No unleashed mode... just a BIOS that works... I need to flash my BIOS to the most recent though... DFI updates its BIOS's monthly I think... lol.

Nice stuff! I miss my AMD rigs....but the awsome benches keep me on i7...I remember paying $1057 b4 taxes for a FX57..lol:roll::o

My bad.... the temp sensor works again... I just left Unleash mode disabled..... with acc set to all cores +2.... It seems unleash mode disables the temp sensor on the chip....:)
