Acer Intros XR341CK Curved Cinematic-Widescreen Monitor with AMD FreeSync

Acer announced the XR341CK curved cinematic-widescreen (21:9) monitor. This 34-inch monitor, offers a native resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels, and is designed for gaming. The display supports AMD FreeSync technology, which lets it synchronize its refresh-rate with the frame-rate of the graphics card. The monitor offers viewing angles of 172°/178° (V/H), refresh-rates of up to 75 Hz, 4 ms response time, and inputs that include a full-size DisplayPort 1.2a, a mini-DisplayPort 1.2a, and HDMI 2.0. Other features include a USB 3.0 hub, in-built 7W stereo speakers and a 3.5 mm headphones jack that take audio input from the graphics card; a height and tilt adjustable stand, native split-screen and PiP. When it hits the shelves, it is expected to be priced around US $1,000.

Terrible port placement on the back, oh what a nightmare if you had that on the wall, viewing angles are kinda meh too.

I see this resolution being a issue for me as i am happy with 1080P, don't need more reasons to bu video cards more often lol.

Acer thinks they're a premium brand with quality, again. I don't know if they're just delusional, greedy, stupid or a combination of all three.

What happened to them being good for the budget market? You got your money's worth.
They don't hold that advantage anymore.

ASUS has the same monitor coming but is G-Sync. rather have the ASUS personally, I own a Swift now and love it!

I do love that stand on it as it looks pretty good!

The port placement for the USB is just bad...The only thing I could see it being useful for is plugging in your keyboard and mouse while keeping it on the stand and never removing them. Its not very easily accessible and the fact that if you wanted to mount it to a wall or some other type of stand your going to be obstructed. I use these ports on monitors (Like my Acer UHD monitor) for plugging in my USB drive which with this monitor would be quite difficult.

Not bad, but considering everything its a bit expensive. Though it does look good and looks to be a good product.

OMG! I just looked over to my wife's desk and the Acer GN246HL we bought last month has disappeared! It's completely true, this one monitor release has wiped out all their low and mid-range monitor options from existence.

They already priced themselves out of the market even on the low end stuff. I can buy a decent IPS for the same price as their regular TNs LOL.

I don't understand why they even bother to offer Free Sync when probably 80% of the market is using Nvidia. I'm honestly sold if it is a G-sync monitor but at this point I would rather wait for the Asus version.

I am assuming you are kidding or legally blind. I have Nvidia and I love Nvidia cards. at this point take a lot to get me over to AMD... but I'm not that ignorant either.

Actually, back in Q1 this year the numbers were 76% for Nvidia and 24% for AMD. Historically they've been about 65% / 35% though (sometimes even nearing 50/50), so making FreeSync monitors still makes a lot of sense.

Relax, curved screens are not meant to be put on a wall anyway.

Why not it surly looks like it has the visa mount on it. And why the hell not ?, and if you cannot that's pretty lame from a such size and price.
