You could probably bring them to CL6 or 7. Why buy such RAM in the first place then if you're going to use them at a lower frequency?

I agree. Why not keep them running at 2000 and just lower timings as best as you can. 1333 is a pretty big drop.

The answer is probably yes though, you just have to try it out for yourself.
