Cheers for looking for a fix.
It doesn't happen often, just that time it was really bad.
I'll have to go back to the level which had the issue and configure the video settings while in game.
I have everything on besides physX which is on low since I don't have an nVidia card.

Here's another glitch.

This has happened twice so far.

The issue in the picture with the black dots appears to be related to having antialias on.

Completed and Verdict

Completed story mode on normal.
Not a bad game but not a great game.

The game has too many bugs and strange performance issues for my liking.
Will have to try this game again with a mouse and keyboard.
Might be easier.

I really enjoyed it though. Was fun and a little challenging getting used to playing with a controller.

I sort of expected the potential of performance issues since this game is backed by EA.
Just not to the extent I have.

Checked out the spicy horse forum and it appears there is a repetition of specific performance issues on PC although mine appears to be the only one with this issue so it maybe a system related thing rather than related to the game.

I'll be going a second round in this game to get the other memories and bottles.
I have the retail version so I might do some config changing to get the DLC which was available only in the digital version.

Also, have you played the original American McGee's Alice?

I started Madness, but then also got the old Alice and plan to play that one first.

My copy also had the original one. I'm probably around 1/4 through the 2nd game though. And consolitis is getting pretty obvious. It's hard to move around the stages using a keyboard.

My Steam store says it's €49 still. I ordered a physical copy this thursday for €19 so I hopefully have it tomorrow.

Anyway, yes. Play the first game. It's amazing. Well maybe not so brilliant gameplay-wise but the atmosphere and level design is unbeatable.

Dangit I just checked on Steam and the game's back to €49.99 Sorry guys for being misleading, I thought the discount would be on till Monday.

Right now I'm a bit stuck in the first game, but I don't want to look for spoilers

It's that part (in the first game still) where you have 3 levers and there's a thing like Harry Potter's dementor flying around you and gobbling your health. I need my time to solve the 3-lever puzzle but the 'dementor' keeps getting the best of me!

i've been playing this with my little girl... nicole's 6 and loves it.... i think its a pretty cool game... probably a 7/10...
