Hey i have problem with CPU i7 10870h - the boost ratio in games only goes to 3.2-3.3 Ghz max with max TEMP 85 degrees its something strange...

In games i have stutters i think is because of low CPU ratio - the laptop is not overhot beacuse the GPU is going only to max 75 degrees, and CPU 85.

I just searching all the internet to serve the solution but nothing i find...

Please help :)

I just add the LOG FILE when i play game (Call of Duty MW)

Post a screenshot of the TPL window so I can see your power limit settings.

The log file shows lots of PL1 power limit throttling at about 106W.

Have you tried using ThrottleStop to undervolt your CPU. Setting both the core and the cache to a negative offset voltage of -50 mV should be stable. It will help reduce power consumption which will allow your CPU to run a little faster before power limit throttling kicks in.

Your temps are great so hopefully you can raise the power limits in the TPL window.

Clear the Thermal Velocity Boost box in the FIVR window. When this box is checked, it causes TVB throttling which reduces the CPU speed 100 MHz. Intel calls this a boost feature but it is actually a throttling feature that should be disabled.

The default PL1 turbo power limits are set to 107W. That tells your CPU to throttle so it does not exceed 107W during any long term test or game. Your CPU is doing what you are asking it to do.

Your cooling is great so I would check the MMIO Lock box near the top right of the TPL window. I would clear the Disable Controls box and I would increase Long Power PL1 to at least 135W. Run a new log file after you do that. You might need to increase both the PL1 and PL2 turbo power limits beyond 135W. This is fine as long as cooling is still OK.

And here I am uploading from a more challenging game CYBERPUNK 2077 - you can see the 85 degrees is "prochot" and the clock are running down (i just adjust it in BIOS) -i will check the 90 degrees limit for longtime durance life :)

Intel rates all of their CPUs to be able to run reliably for a long, long time at up to 100°C. There is no need to lower this temperature in the BIOS. Let your CPU run the way Intel intended it to run.

If you ever want to increase the turbo power limits, you will need to clear the Lock box in the Power Limit Controls section and then you will need to reboot so the CPU can reset itself. Most users only check the MMIO Lock box at the top. They do not bother checking the second lock box in the Power Limit Controls section that you have checked. It is OK to check this second lock box. It is just more of a hassle if you ever want to make any changes to this power limit.

The first log file shows PL2 power limit throttling at 135W. You are making progress but should really consider going higher. Maybe 150W or 160W as long as the PROCHOT temperature is set to where it should be set.

Hey just done - and PL2 is 150W but PL1 is 135 (when i use 150W to PL1 and PL2) the computer got crash.

I go with default BIOS (prochot is 100 degrees)

the computer got crash
Did you lower the voltage? Computers should not crash. If the crash was caused by the CPU running at 100°C, try lowering PROCHOT to 95°C.

The log file shows lots of TVB throttling. You should consider clearing the Thermal Velocity Boost box in the FIVR window. Throttling can cause instability.

At least now you know why your CPU was not running at full speed. Too much power limit throttling. Hopefully you can come up with the perfect settings so your laptop can run fast without any crashing.

Hey you right! When I use undervolt -50 to cpu and cpu core my computer going to crash.
But when I use PL1 in 150 and PL2 150 the temps are under the 100 degrees (max 100)
You doing great work! My CPU now have power to do more efficiently work.
Thank you! My next step is going to stable undervolt.

Hey have question for my GPU - i added the log file.

My GPU is RTX 3080 (8 GB) have max TDP 140 but when i use it in game its only 120 and throttle.. I useing your setting.

Could you do something for it? Bcs the 3080 in my laptop is soo slow.. i just use any setting (low, medium, high, ultra) and fps is the SAME! What the hell...

Thank you!

I never knew that the 3080 came with a 10th gen intel processor, I thought the lowest can the 11th gen.
