Alphacool Showcases its Eiswand 360 CPU AIO External Cooling System

At CES 2017, Alphacool showcased their external, AIO cooling solution for all your CPU cooling needs. What's really interesting about this solution is that it's fully external (barring the cooling tubes), meaning that no amount of heat will be dissipated inside your computer case, which should, in turn, improve overall temperatures in your system's components. And it also stands as a solution for users whose PC case doesn't support a 360mm radiator.

A 360mm XT45 Copper radiator makes up the bulk of the Eiswand. A total of six 700 RPM Eiswand Fans set up in a push-pull configuration keep the system cool, with two DC-LT Low noise ceramic pumps act as the Eiswand's heart, with universal socket compatibility guaranteeing you can use it in your system. The Eiswand also features a LED base that lights-up blue when powered.

Anyways, every time I see an Alphacool product I can't help but realize how cheap an flimsy they are looking compared to like Aquacomputer, EKWB, Koolance and the likes. Is it just me or does anyone else feels the same?

They are trying, and doing well at, changing this impression of the brand being a cheaper one in both senses of the word. I have used nearly all the components in this setup and they are pretty well built. Just need to see how the exterior packaging is now.

Alphacool has always had solid products. For a long time Alphacool's radiators have been the goto in many serious builds along with Aquacomputer, Hardwarelabs, Swiftech, Koolance and EK. They were more function over form throughout the years.

Lmfao hilarious. I believe a lot of companies have stuff to show off in the hotel rooms of their representatives. I've seen videos of Asus and Corsair products (specifically a Corsair keyboard) being shown off on one of those desks next to the mini-fridge in a hotel room lol. But still....a BED for something like that? Jesus.

Also....it looks like one of those tower heaters you find at Target IMO

I've seen videos of Asus and Corsair products (specifically a Corsair keyboard) being shown off on one of those desks next to the mini-fridge in a hotel room lol. It's actually a suite that gets rented out for the event. No one is actually staying in it. Pretty common for hardware mfg's to go this route due to cost or availability of space in the main event show room. CES and several trade shows have been trying to minimize this practice recently though.

I find this cooler actually quite interesting. Having an Air 240 cube built in my furniture, such an external cooler would allow me to cool my 6700k much more efficiently. And OC...
What if i put this cooler ca. 1.5m above my CPU? Does the pump handle it? How long are the tubings?

Yea this definitely has it's best use scenarios especially with SFF builds. Not to sure what the included tubing length is, but you should be able to replace it with whatever you need. I personally use Tygon tubing. Just need to find out the size of the included fittings and go from there. You also shouldn't have a problem mounting this above your CPU.

As long as the loop is air-free, the height difference between cooler and CPU doesn't have a negative impact pump performance (same amount of water that gets pumped up needs to come down on the other end, so to speak). Alltough, a longer tube has a higher flow resistance.

However, I wouldn't place this tall thing so high above ground. If you accidentally pull on the tubes or something, it probably will do a fair bit of damage.
