Considering Thuban was Windows 7 days.

I have my DFI LP NF2 Ultra B still, with a XP-M 2500 still, I have a 3200 I will slave in once I put a stock bios back on it

Well Phenom II as a whole was already obsolete when it was new (K10 architecture being dated all the way to 2007 and it being incapable of doing SSSE3 and newer), so there's that thing. It had more or less an attractive proposition at the time, but they were just so hilariously awful when stacked against a i7 on a P6T, even if that i7 was a lowly 920 :(

so you think the power supply will fail before the motherboard ?
i'm luck because with the motherboard, i bough a quality one (from this time), it is a thermaleck model.
off course, i already change hardrive too.
first thing which fail down was the ram module. it was corsair (or crucial). AS they are in "life warranty", i get new one at the 8th year. then it was the cpu fan (original intel) which work very fine too. i hade to rebuy the same model on ebay.

Quite likely that will be the case. Motherboard should last a very long time if it's not abused. HDDs may fail with age, but you should be using an SSD on that system already.

If your motherboard has UEFI support it should work.

I was an X58 user (P6T iirc + X5675 (@ 4.1 GHz)) till late '18 and my good homie still uses X5650 + some ASUS X58 board as his backup PC. He won't ever sell it and the only condition he stops using it is the ultimate death of this PC.

I'm currently much more interested in buying an AM5 mobo with DDR5 so I could make use of my 7700X (I've never had any Ryzen systems as my own PCs) but I'm incredibly short on money for now... Maybe next year.

If your motherboard has UEFI support it should work.

It doesn't, but in general it should work... But newer games don't run on CPUs without AVX, so might be a bit of a futile upgrade

Yay for older systems in regular use!
Just a few months ago I retired a maxed out & oc'd Phenom II X4 rig that was used frequently. It was still adequate for plenty of things, including games, and felt very responsive.
I'm typing this on an FX 8300. It's my main Win7 system, used every day. I often run it in a 1c/2t config with minimal bus/memory clocks, and even then it makes a very decent web browser :D

I can try an RX 6700 10GB on X58 later today. AMD cards usually come with a classical GPU bios. So it should work. My Vega 64 works.
I will post some screenshots of the system later. Cyberpunk runs pretty well tho, even with the Vega card :)

It is a sapphire RX 6700. It may not work, but i am curious to try it out :)
I was told that all AMD cards still come with a classical graphics bios, in addition the the standard UEFI one. Will see today.

Cinebench r23 runs on the X58 CPUs too. But Cinebench 2024 does not, since it needs AVX for windows. On mac, it runs on that platform :D

I know my RX 570 from MSI works. And by the looks the RX 6700 10G works too :D

Cinebench R23 works too. One of my better score, i just ran it. Still lots of stuff running in the background.

I had an EVGA x58 system for a while. Had to dig into my old 3Dmark scores to remember how it was clocked. 2.66GHz processor running at 4GHz lol. I think that was my daily clock too with an air cooler called "Thor's Hammer". http://www.3dmark.com/fs/54842. With the good ol' GTX 680. I think I still had a pair of 8800GTX's when I got that motherboard/CPU...then a GTX 285, then GTX 470, then the 680. I ran the x58 for about 5 years and then a x99/5820k system for about 6 years. I think I still have the 5820k in the box somewhere. They're uhhh...not worth so much these days.

They're not worth much because it's an extremely obsolete platform and even the strongest CPUs it supports are all mind bogglingly slow compared to even low cost CPUs today. The cheapest 12th gen Core i3 is going to murder an i7-6850K, these X58 chips don't stand a chance. They've had a good run, but I'm hesitant to classify them anything but retro systems today.

The X58 has only one unique strength: it's quite versatile if you need to run old software under obsolete versions of Windows for whatever reason, being compatible with Windows 2000 and XP natively having launched just before Windows 7 came out 15 years ago, supporting from floppies and parallel IDE to even NVMe with some modifications.

However the limitations have simply made this platform far too obsolete, being limited to slow PCIe Gen 2, no SATA 3 support, insufficient instruction set/complete lack of AVX, low security, microcode fixes bogging them down further, legacy BIOS, horrid performance with sky high power consumption, etc.

What is the first faillure sign of a such motherboard (in normal daily use, not in stress use) ?
I had a P67 that after about 2 years while basically idle with Windows exploded with a loud bang and a flame shot up. Bits of copper seen around the area. Still in warranty but through it in the bin.

Had a P55 UD6 that did the same but a little less noise and much smaller flame and much less copper shards. Out of warranty. Shame, quite liked that board.

Had a Z97 that turned off while idle in Windows. No bangs or burning smells. Thought it might be the CPU for some reason so changed that out. Still the same. After some inspection turned out a high side CPU FET had gone short and was feeding 12V to the CPU's, so lost some CPU's. :( Dug out the faulty FET with a pair of cutters as soldering iron wasn't suitable for desoldering it. Booted okay with missing FET and was able to confirm good and bad CPU's. Would have preferred the low side FET's turning on at start up and blowing the crap out the faulty FET or tripping the PSU but that didn't happen.

Have a Tualatin board that I haven't tried in a while.

I don't have a P67, but I'm still using an Asus Rampage II Gene and Evga X58 SLI. Also have an Asus Rampage II Extreme as a backup board.
