Apparently the best place to look for leaks is the XFX website. The Radeon R9 390X, which is in fact slightly faster R9 290X equipped with 8GB memory, can be found on their website under .. R9 290X product page.
Not on the En-US site.

So, where does Fiji fit in then if Grenada is 390X ? Basically they'll make a HBM ones the same shit as it's Titan or what?! Overpriced exclusive for the richest people. Yay...

Flagship GPUs are rarely designed for us working class gamers.
I always buy 1 down from the top end, usually has the best price/perf. Worked out well for me so far.

AMD Radeon R7 370 leaked

AMD-Radeon-R7-370-Performance1.jpg

Here’s the first interesting slide leaked from the new “Radeon Graphics Update” presentation that is floating around the web for the past few days.

AMD Radeon R7 370 faster than GeForce GTX 750 Ti

The brand new design, somewhat similar to GeForce GTX 760 cooler, has been published at Chinese forums. It’s the first actual confirmation of that this card exists, and most important, not it’s not an OEM version. The OEM version is Radeon R9 370.

The new cooler is slightly longer than the PCB, which probably means AMD has spent some time improving cooling efficiency of its new series. Also the meshy cooler shroud seems to be similar to one we know from leaked Radeon Fury pictures. Apart from that we can’t really see all the details on this blurry picture, but it does seem Radeon R7 370 has one 6pin power connector and one CrossFire finger.

Radeon R7 370 could either be based on Radeon R9 270 or R9 270X. Based on my information we are looking at cosmetic clock speed improvement — 10-100 MHz on the core and 25 MHz on memory (depending if this is non-X or X rebrand).

The Radeon R7 370 is supposedly based on Curacao/Pitcairn silicon. It most likely has 1280 Stream cores and 2 GB memory. It’s the oldest graphics processor in Radeon R9 300 series.

Here’s the full slide suggesting 20% better performance than GeForce GTX 750 Ti:

And here are two other slides leaked from the same presentation:

For 30W more energy efficient. 180W vs 150W. But still a lot. Since GTX 970 is just 145W.

I think the problem with comparing nVidia to AMD on TDP is that nVidia is taking TDP literally and only saying how much heat is wasted in watts, as where AMD is literally telling the wattage as a TDP. See some power readings on a GTX 970 system with the card going full bore versus the same machine with an R9 270X and you should see the GTX 970 pulling a fair amount more power.

Or simply compare that a GTX 670 with a 170W TDP draws about 30W less than a GTX 970 at 145W. nVidia is either being very optimistic about power usage, or is doing what I described above.

Source: http://www.anandtech.com/show/8568/the-geforce-gtx-970-review-feat-evga/15 (Does not show an R9 270X, but does show the GTX 670).

Wow, R7 370. Instead of dropping the sub-tier (270 to 360), they instead dropped the class from R9 to R7.

AMD stated on their financial analysis day that the 2nd half of the year will be easier than the 1st half. I kinda doubt that'll be the case with only Carrizo and Fiji as new products. The rest will probably be even worse than their current graphics cards, because they'll likely be priced higher with the new stickers.

Ah well, Pitcairn remains mid-range for yet another year. And I guess AMD's market share will soon be below 20%, unless Fiji manages to cause a massive halo effect. Their R&D spending is still fairly high, I guess they must be focusing it on Arctic Islands. All that money spent within the last 2 years, yet no new GPUs since late 2013..

I doubt the prices will be as high as the first post states makes them look though, considering it's just a conversion from SEK to USD and prices tend to be higher in Europe.

What I'm interested to see in this "new" series is if they'll "unlock" all of Tonga.

Would be a bit silly if they released the die-shot for Tonga and then didn't use the chip.

As far as R&D spending goes, you realize not every dollar is turned into a wonderful new tech advancement? AMD is trying to bring their whole company down to 14nm and it takes years (not to mention tons of cash) to finish a project that laborious. I'm surprised they are still set on 2016 for Zen. Even if they started the design on the heels of Bulldozer, that's only 5 years for a die shrink they weren't expecting (they were originally going to use 20nm, see their analyst day 2010 charts) and a node that wasn't working until last year.

Maybe nVidia will screw the consumer again and get some more bad press, giving AMD a little more market share. :p

All it means is that the 390x is equivalent to a GTX980 but has 8GB of memory... good for GTAV
of course, i have 2 GTX980's... Moot point for me...

Pfft this isn't for GTAV. That's so last month. Obviously AMD is future-proofing for when Fallout 4 comes out. You'll need that 8GB to just run all 500 mods you're going to want.

From what I can see now, we can just forget about HBM. It'll be limited to those 1000€ cards no one but the most rich kids will have. The rest will have to have the same old crap we already had all the time till now. Why the fuck couldn't they say this half a year ago and I'd just buy the GTX 980 and call it a day. I was fucking waiting because of HBM god damn it, but not for some limited exclusive shit that is so expensive there is no way I can afford it. For 400-500€, maybe I'd fork that because it's a new tech, but I'm not paying Titan level price. F U AMD.

Calm down there. All AMD has said is that a card in the new series would feature HBM. They never said it would be a cheap card, and everyone pretty much KNEW it wouldn't be cheap. This is a new technology that AMD is heavily invested in, and they want to start making a return on their R&D as quick as possible. To do that they need to show HBM off on the biggest, baddest GPU they can muster with current gen tech and give it a good show.

At least now you have the choice of the GTX 980 Ti if you don't want the new Radeon. If you'd bought the GTX 980 that wouldn't be the case.

HBM is a good thing though going forward so long as the technology translates to DDR3 and especially DDR4. It would mean smaller devices can pack more memory.

I guess the only question now is whether or not Hawaii XT is worth the $60 extra compared to Hawaii Pro. Article says there is a 5-9% performance difference.

F U AMD.

Without 4K or a multi monitor setup, there's little to get excited about when it comes to HBM as that's where HBM will be able to shine.

With VSR function, that isn't necessarily true. I can still cram 4K processing on the card despite only having 1080p display... Or just use FSAA which essentially does a similar thing...
