OMG that is very cheap, even if it isn't quick! Definately a perfect solution for a budged system.

lol those almost always clock up to 2.4ghz that would be a great budget gamer

Good luck with the rebate.

Tiger direct sucks bawls.

mine worked but it has been slow TD is just slow other than that they have been fine

We don't tend to get this whole rebate thing going on here in the UK... why do retailers do it?

Price hurdle discrimination.

edit: cant seem to find anything on the net for it, so heres the opening paragraphs on it from my textbook:

Interesting, I haven't actually studied anything quite like that yet so thanks for the extract... I think everyone would go for a $40 rebate though!

To answer your question why they do it I read a study about rebates and the conclusion was that most people forget to send it in or dont follow the directions to get it back and the companys end up selling the item for retail prices. kinda like Bestbuy last year made 4 million off of unused gift cards that were sold and never used.

the am2 ones overclocks even better, my brother has his at 2.5ghz at 1.45vcore :)

this would be great choice for a budget system

wat is rebate

You buy the product for full price (lets say $50), and once you get the product, you mail a barcode or something attached to the packaging, or fill in a form it comes with, back to the place you ordered it, and they send you money back; in this case its $40 (so your really only paying $10)

Wow!!! you people really get cheap stuff... here I have to pay a minimum of a 30% plus the newegg price... importing tax they said... bullshit... its all blackmarket. Lucky those who live in 1st world countries.

where do you live?

Sad but true
That's why here it's so popular buy in the blackmarket... there is no other option... especially with high end products. They keep the prices as the release day forever hahaha.
