AMD 5000+ and FX62 support socket 939

You can make a low profile LAN rig from a toasty old Pentium D, you just have to have a brain to back the concept. The Turion is not worth it over a DTR Athlon 64, and does less "per-clock"...

Anyway, the original subject of this discussion is now unfounded. AMD have said no 5000+ or FX-62 will come to the 939 line. And who cares anyway?

so if you was to buy a computer around july 23 (conroe release date) would u:

1. get conroe

2. get am2 with £60 sempron and upgrade to K8L cpu when released

looking at K8L in wikipedia it has many new features, like sse4 what ever that is and many many more

i need expert advice coz i need to buy a pc at around the release date of conroe, option 1 or 2

Well..

Conroe I belive will also have SSE4 aswell (someone correct me if I'm wrong).. In light of that, and the constant bickering on this thread.

I will vote that you buy a Conroe that has the same size L2 cache as the EE (Extreme Edition) if you can. Then Overclock the hell of of it. Sound good to you?

the e6600 right ? £150 one 4MB with the RD600

Well.....

If that is in your budget, and is dual core.. go for it man. ;)

yea its dual core like 2.13 ghz i think, i cant belaive it beats a £750 FX 62 which is 2.8 and this is 2.13 and £150
