AMD 9800X3D availability issue

If it's not applicable to you, move on. Your availability in Russia is not going to be remotely close to what we have in the US.
What I'm saying is "If you're homeless just buy a house" kinda advice is a bad advice. Don't be like that.

Small update, I think it might be useful for buyers now. I have been getting more alerts than before about 9800X3D availability from NowInStock.com coming through their telegram channel.... I guess availability in USA is becoming more - hopefully reflects on other areas as well.

My order from Amazon US was supposed to ship late March, then became 7th Feb to 7th of March window, then it shipped today 10th of Jan!!!

Just for reference, this CPU goes locally for at least 750USD and getting it for MSRP was miracle.

Gonna post the package photo once I get it :D wish you all amazing year and eadier purchases than mine xD

Today's email...
I hope it's more available now, many stores restocked it recently.

:toast::rockout::rockout::rockout::rockout::peace:enjoy !!!! Remember to update your bios if you haven't. I did mine with no cpu installed. Good luck

It's at the point in my region where AM5 motherboard prices have gone down because everyone wants a 9800x3d and there isn't nearly enough supply of them at msrp. At current prices, they cost more than a 9950x and there's no way I'm paying more for a CPU with half the cores.

You are right where I live the 9800X3D is as high as 689.99 CAD. Meanwhile the 9900X is $599. That $90 less is insane. Where I live the X670E boards have fallen in some cases. It looks like they are trying to move those Mini ITX boards as they always seem to be on sale. At the same time boards like the As Rock B650E Pro RS Wifi have gone up by $100 since I bought mine on Cyber Monday. It really is no different than the 8700G but the reverse is true for that chip. That chip is almost $200 more than the 8600G but the handheld market is what makes that just $200 less than an Ally and more expensive than a Steam Deck 512GB. BTW CAD is Canadian Dollars. I do see that Newegg has them in stock right now but every other X3D chip except the 5700X3D (funnily enough)is out and the 7900X3D has risen by more than 100% from it's lowest price ever of $343 to $734.98 on Amazon right now. Let's remember that Amazon uses a bot for pricing (they all do) and it is funny that Newegg is cheaper in every single AM5 part than Amazon. The issue with Newegg (I can't believe I am saying this about PC parts) is stock. It would seem much of the AM5 hardware is out of stock. Good luck finding a X870E Taichi btw.

Is that 689 before tax? The retail here has always been around 745(cad equivalent). At its peak, prices went as high as 950 and currently the cheapest (boxed) one I've seen is about 840, which is 65 more than a 9950x. Retail stock drops about once a week, but there's always 10s of thousands of reservations and it's first click first serve, so they sell out to bots in the first second.

Yep add another 13% to that price.

9800X3D is still a nightmare to get in Canada before I got mine I was planning a road trip to the USA to grab one Like most Canadians I live about 2 hours from the border. I just looked Amazon, Canada computers Newegg are still out of stock :(

Can't wait for a certain graphics company to throw this back at 'em :nutkick:

Arrogance is never the answer
You took that as arrogance, when the truth is exactly that?

If only they'd apply their Zen strategy to their gpu division..... Kinda sucks they'd rather talk about Intel than their own products. (rdna4)

Still it gave me a good laugh at least amd can win on the gaming cpu side....

Funny thing is besides all the negativity, they aren't even bad products. They are basically matching zen 5 in every single metric (gaming, mt, efficiency), they even win in some (ST efficiency, light loads etc.). I bet in a different world where the 9800x 3d was an Intel chip, it would get flamed into oblivion (see 6700k / 7700k).

6700k/7700k lasted a while though the i5 are the ones that didn't age that well.

UE5 is likely going to be the engine of choice for a long while I doubt any 8 core will struggle in it and unless consoles go 12/16 core we likely won't see much progress except the odd game here or there.

I can make you a long list of games that would definitely benefit from more than 8 cores (eg. TLOU, last human, dragon age). I was always a believer of "more cores more better".

I'm not saying there isn't but still it's like the 8GB vram dilemma 99% of stuff is still fine and the majority of developers aren't really making much progress properly utilizing 12+ cores

Nvidia is likely investing millions if not billions to generate frames and remove the cpu from the equation as much as possible as it is lol with their cpu destroying 5090 that gets sub 30fps in BMW and CP2077 lol

You took that as arrogance, when the truth is exactly that?

The truth is also that Nvidia GPUs are better in every fathomable way across literally every market segment, and that they have a 90% market share... does it need to be rubbed in?

Agreed
