i recently got this laptop that i had been playing csgo and a lot of other games with

system specs:
amd a6-5200 apu w/ radeon hd 8400/r3 graphics
4 gigs ram
windows 10

but it seems like about a week ago or so i think they updated the source engine that runs all the half life 2 games because out of no where i got hit by a huge fps hit. i used to get around 45-60+ frames on dust2 with bots but it went down to low 20's. and i know its the source engine because it affected gmod and l4d 1/2. i have pretty decent graphics that i can already overclock to 780 core and 1040 mem. not saying the apu is bad, but i would like to get a little more performance out it. ive already tried numerous oc programs like amd overdrive, fusiontweaker, and a few others. if anyone knows how to overclock the amd a6-5200 apu, it would be greatly appreciated.

Pretty sure they wouldn't update an engine that is older than time itself.

Check your temps.

yeah would have to agree. most likely windows updated your drivers without telling you.

but that wouldnt make any sense because i didnt suffer fps hits in any other games that i play (minecraft, cod5waw, doom3 so on...)

It can do funky things to specific game engines.

i checked the driver in device manager for my apu and it said the driver for it was installed on 8/6/2015 and when i experienced the fps hit was durring the beginning of summer so that cant be the case. anything else that couldve gone wrong? i assumed that it was the source engine because it changed the font in all of the source engine games that i play and slowed them all down to unplayable(being csgo, l4d1/2 gmod). i havent seen any other posts about yet so i have no clue what couldve cause it. thanks for the fast reply though

Most probably a regression in the latest patch for the game engine.

anyways, back to the main question. is there any way i can over clock the amd a6-5200 apu? ive already tried amdoverdrive and fusiontweaker
