Drop what you are doing and lets get back to the start.

1. What is wrong with your card that you need to flash it?

2. What is the Brand, Make, Model of your card?

3. Please take pictures of all of the white stickers located on the back of the card and side of the heatsink near the pcie edge connector, get a GPU-Z screenshot and post all pics here

Right theres nothing wrong with the card just flashing as it never been done since i had it as for the card its an MSI RX 580 Armor OC edition
the guide says i need to format the usb before it will boot in to dos so i can flash the card as for where i got to its the part where u enter the files for bootle disk and click start but every time i start it says device media is write protected

Since the card is working correctly there really isnt any reason to flash the card and potentially brick it. If you insist I need some info from you.

Get GPU-Z and take a screenshot of it please. I will try to help you but i need your co-operation.

Once you do that then we can proceed
