should i use it? i am currently but havent noticed anything diferant about system speeds.

Me and all of my friends that have an x2 use it. I don't see a performance difference either but it's nice to know that its there. :toast:

Yeah, just use it. Install the AMD driver first, then the Optimizer.

can anyone help me because im running into a problem ok. So i install dual core optimizer and everything goes well only problem is im not sure if its helping so i do a little digging. my registry tweaker called regseeker says that amd dual core optimizer is a start up entry...ok so i go into my task manager and it isnt their? the e.e isnt running and the only reason i figure it would be is i was reading the read me and came across this

* On 4x4 Systems, right click on the AMD logo system tray icon and select “Gaming Mode” in order to turn “Gaming Mode” on/off.

now i know this is a quad core system but i get no such tray icon even dual core...so i search some more i try services.msc...and i cant find it it doesnt even say its running ...so i try msconfig i look understart up and sure enough its their so i go under services to make sure i didnt accidentally disable it and still no go no ware to be found.....so is it coincidence does it run silently or is their something wrong?

I think it's one of those sneaky services lol...I'm being serious BTW...I know what you mean...I can't find it in certain places.

so does anyone else get the amd tray icon with the performance options? i have downloaded and installed it seperately on 3 machines and never noticed anything in the sys tray or running in the processes tab. but i can see it in the startup in msconfig.

It also adds a switch to your boot.ini

I, also, have never noticed ant tray Icons or options to change.

More accurate timing is all it adds to your system, MS released a patch for this too awhile back. Some threads need a stable clock for timing threads, so if one core is faster or slower than the other the thread creates a error. The patch just lies about the clock speed and bases it off a lower common speed. Every system suffers from the clock generator being just a bit unaccurate.

I never got a icon either, but I don't feel screwed.
