Why AMD doesn't increase their bus width on gpu???
they always stick to 256-bit~
at least use like they produce in 2900XT which has 512-bit bus witdh~
with the incriment of the bus witdh i think ATI can beat nvidia gpu's~

These are Mobility Radeon we're talking about here. They will go to laptops. We are not talking about discrete GPUs for desktops.

I can't wait to see what AMD and Nvidia will be doing with the 28nm fabrication process :D

If it uses 6GHz effective GDDR5 would you really expect that to be a bottleneck on a mobile part?

I'm not sure how to do the math but I'm sure that's around/over 200gb/s but also Hynix has made GDDR5 chips that can run at 7GHz effective speed, how many hundreds of gb/s bandwidth is enough? :p

man its terrible 256 bit GDDR5 is so slow in comparison to what 512 bit GDDR3? oh w2ait no those are the same. current cards are not having bandwidth issues esp on the notebook side of things...

its non issue, because its laptop so it need to be as efficient as it can be

so what about the Success with nvidia cards, they gonna use more then 256bit
ok lets say high memory speed from ATI and more wide memory bandwidth from nvidia it give same frequency, but question who give more heat and who will more effective ????

No "HD" though. That's why they thought of that new prefix first starting with the 2xxx series, for this inevitability.

You are no fun :(

hmm isn't GTX260 was SLOWER than HD 4870 despite having wider bus ???? or HD 5870/6870 vs GTX 470,

Hey guys! I have exclusive new photos of the 7000 series!

I think there will be people seeling these things in ebay. And I think that some unlucky people will buy them too, because of overlooking.

Confusion would be highly unlikely (although possible, considering that there are stupid consumers) as there were only three cards in that series, the 7000, the 7200 and the 7500, i.e. quite distinct from the numbering in place today.

wish they would stop taking technology from the rosewell spacecraft and slowly making it look like theres progress on the techfront. Just fucking get the lightsabers, starfleet grade phase pistols and warp speed spacecrafts on the go already, jesus fuck what are we wating for!!! amd intel my ass. in the future days of techwars, its gunna boil down to 2 main contenders, google and disney lol

most newer mobility cards use GDDR5 and @256bit that is comparable to 512bit GDDR3, memory bandwidth is a double edged sword for notebooks, the more you have, the more rops you need and the more rops the more power and heat the gpu needs/generates

the 2900XT is a good example of this gone wrong, that card was a complete mess late in its life

and most of the time the GTX260 was faster than the HD4870 in actual gaming

for the most part yes, the 192sp model was roughly par with the 4870 and the 216sp model was slightly ahead

and most of the time the GTX260 was faster than the HD4870 in actual gaming

ditto on what i said above.

A mobilty card with 256-bit GDDR5 will assumedly be a fantastic performer, hec a 5770 isnt bottlenecked by 128-bit GDDR5 and the juniper based mobility chips are already a heap of power on the go.
