it doesnt have any installed on it the r9 270 drivers on it wont install and it the screen doesnt stay on for more than an hour after a new windows install to try and test diffrent drivers. ive put it in the 8x slot and even it wont work in it im going to try it in a diffrent system and see what happends but if it works theres got to be something going on with the os because ive tryed 3 diffrent hard drives and ssd's and so far nothing works.

ive looked on yt and i havent found anything like it im about to put the card in a different system to see what happens.

so I tried it in a different system and what it does is not even 5 min in it causes the pc to black screen then the pc restarts and continues to do this over and over until the automatic repair appears.

I had a very similar (or the same) issue with a 270 I had bought. Apparently it was a Dell card that someone previously had flashed a regular 270 bios on.

My issue was that the card would work fine as long as I didn't install the drivers. If I installed the Radeon drivers it would crash as soon as the driver was loaded into Windows (blue screen boot loop). After flashing the correct Dell bios it worked fine.

Currently my only issue is that the most recent Radeon driver that works with the card is from 2020... for some reason Dell Radeon cards always have a different Device ID than the regular Radeons thus sometimes the official Radeon installer won't pickup the cards (I also have a Dell HD7570 and only the Dell drivers work with that one). I don't mind that much because the card is kind of useless with current games anyway.

edit: my card

edit2:
If you don't know what brand your card is, there's a number just above the PCIe connector that has a format like "109-11236982 C3"
Enter that string on a search engine and see if you can find out.

I had the same problem with my R7 260x ( Asus R7260X DC2OC-2GD5 ) in win 10....A bios flash solved the problem..i got the bios from asus...if you know the manufacturer and model details, you can look in the manufacturers' website for bios updates...

No you dont but its good to have a spi flasher as a backup along side a spare gpu.

If you bios flash you will need to follow my directions carefully.

So was the card bought used?

Ok well 55 percent chance says its a failed part on the card, 45 says bios is faulty. follow my directions for a safe bios flash

i can probably do the sticker but the screen shot is going to be alot harder since the pc wont make it past the windows loading screen and any other pc i put it in crashes after a few min.

Make sure monitor is hooked to a video port on motherboard. Make sure motherboard bios is set to boot on igp first/only. Do not plug card in. Boot windows, remove the amd gpu drivers through windows control panel/settings-add remove programs/apps. Get the tool, Display driver uninstaller, remove the traces of amd gpu drivers.

Restart when prompted.

Update the motherboard chipset drivers.

Have the last working gpu driver available.

Shut down, plug card in the top pcie slot.

Leave monitor hooked up to the igp. Boot up.

ok i downloaded the the tool and deleted the drivers and now it works but i think what is happening is windows realizes its an amd card and isntalls the drivers for it and once it installs them the card has afull on meltdown and black screens and causes the whole system to crash.

https://community.amd.com/t5/drivers-software/black-screen-with-r9-270x/td-p/280600

they have been having this issue for a while cause of the trash amd adrenaline drivers.
i think that the problem maybe that the drivers may increase the clock speed on the card for better performance in games but some card s cant take it and it crashes with the drivers installed. so maybe if i take msi after burner and under clock it it may work?

nvm i dont think this will work i think its mainly a driver issue or microsoft messing things up.

Ok display driver uninstaller recommends disconnecting ethernet/lan or disabling wifi b4 uninstalling, rebooting and installing the gpu drivers.

Update your motherboard chipset drivers and then use this driver if under windows 10 64 bit.
