A new picture, and two new renders of the upcoming AMD Radeon RX 6000 series RDNA2 graphics cards were shown to the web by JayzTwoCents. These build on top of the official render and Fortnite 3D model reveal from Monday. The first picture shows a top angle shot of AMD's upcoming flagship card, with its dual-slot, triple fan cooling solution. You also get to see the new fan design that has webbed impellers, similar to the ASUS Axial-Tech fans, which direct all their airflow axially, onto the heatsink below. Besides red and black, there are silver bits on the metal cooler shroud, including bits of reflective chrome, and diamond-cut bores of the fan intakes.

Jayz also revealed a never-before-seen smaller reference design card from the RX 6000 series, which features a slightly shorter board design, and a dual-fan setup. He predicts that the larger triple-fan card could be released as a range-topping RX 6900 series, while the dual-fan card could launch in a different segment—6800 or 6700 series. AMD is expected to reveal the RX 6000 series RDNA2 graphics cards on October 28, 2020, but along the way we're sure to receive many more such reveals.

I can't unsee the very obvious cooler side profile that Radeon adopted from the Nvidia 2080 founders edition.
Hopefully Radeon at least improved it by making it easier to disassemble.

Let's see if they adopted the performance along with the looks.

There's dozens of cards going back years that use similar styles

On 2nd thought could've done without all those "R"s. Specially that giant center-piece on the two-fan model.

People talking about AMD copying Nvidia cooler design, probably has never seen custom AIB coolers before. Heres a clue, the sides are open.

Nvidia shouldnt have abandon the RTX 2k looks, its still the best looking gpu shroud to date. They could refined it by removing the ugly bolts.

I dont like RTX 3k, it looks like BBQ grlll with lids that will pump hot air right into my cpu cooler.

Well half of the heated air is pushed out the back of the card. The rest is in the path of CPU air cooler.

I feel the RDNA2 heatsink fan look pretty generic, so not sure if this a copy of the FE cooler design though. Generally, the heatsink is also sourced from other companies/ OEM, so not sure if AMD is the one that design it this way.

From the design and placement of the fans, I feel most of the hot air will end up getting blown towards the CPU, rather than through the back of the card. We should get more clarity when the official reviews are out today.

Yes you can argue prior art but the the timing says it's not that.

Edit: Srsly it's just lazy. Even I propably could cook up a cooler shroud that doesn't immediately draw comparison to a 2080ti.

are ya all looking more+more in your glass side panel instead of your monitor?

if it performs well i don´t give a flying .........

I see lot of people comparing it to nvidia design. The fin system is similar to VII, looks little bulkier also there are only few ways you can put Radeon on there. I mean you saw what happened with VII it blocked air actually. Now fans look nothing alike Founders edition and whats similar is how it surrounds the PCB. I honestly could care less as long as it works well and does the job.

Give me performance at great price and I will take this cooler anyday. Oh and I am buying 3080 first as well just in case RDNA sucks if it doesn't hopefully I will sell 3080 to miners at profit. looks like mining craze is about to hit again and Nvidia is counting on it with their shader heavy design. It almost feels like Nvidia did what amd had going first with GCN that was compute heavy now Ampere has all them cuda cores that will scale at mining and not gaming lol.

RTG really lacks creativity. Copies RTX2000 series FE design.

Hmm, maybe next year we gonna see something like this from RTG

Its better looks than rtx20 tho, the triple fan

Improve cooling design, lower temp & noise, better perf/price, & the most important thing it's RED xD

Seriously i think i want one, 5970fe & 6970 IceQ was my last flagship Radeon card

Xfx did closed shroud before those two copycats

I like the looks of the cards. It does look sharp.

As long as it's not a god damn blower, I don't care who cribbed it from who.

I love looking at leaked pictures almost as much as I love reading about Intel talking about yet another Lake/Cove.

Doesn't look very pretty, waiting for Sapphire's cards.

Yeah. I want a Nitro+ one with the huge heatsink. My 580 runs cool and quiet and leaves lots of room to OC

Overall the design is growing on me - while I prefer more minimalist designs, this comes off as a suitably tasteful take on a semi-futuristic styling. For those saying this resembles RTX 20xx coolers - well, sure, in the way that any reasonably squared off axial fan design with top-facing branding would. That doesn't make it a copy or derivative, though, as the design is quite distinct (more rounded/more visual flow, very different detailing, far less industrial-looking), not to mention that the RTX 20xx FE coolers themselves strongly resemble some previous designs. Put it this way: this design would fit with an aesthetic somewhat along the lines of Mass Effect, while the RTX 20xx FE coolers are more along the lines of (the non-hacked together) parts of Deus Ex. Stricter looking, more straigth lines, more industrial, more squared off, visible screws, etc. Similar does not necessarily mean derivative.

Anyhow, if I get one of these it's getting a waterblock, so it's not like the design matters much to me.

Well... thats clearly a team rocket R on these cards
