AMD Radeon RX 9070 Series Launch Event Slated for Late-February

Don't bother it's going to be out of stock everywhere .
It is already in stock.

The problem, likely, is they were assuming 5070 beating 4070 Ti Super and costing a fortune, not a glorified 5050 for 550 bucks. So they're "reconsidering" their approach.

Nobody should buy a 7900XTX right now. It was obsolete the day it was released and is still obsolete two years later.

I almost pulled the trigger on a 6750XT the other day. Saw it listed NIB for $329.

Anything else that seems like a good value is out of stock. Everywhere.

It is already in stock.
Bots and scalpers will still scoop them all up and price us normies out. I work. I can't drive 2 hours to Microcenter to camp out at 4am.

Even with RDNA 4 out, the 7900 XTX will still be the top performing AMD card out there, also with 24 GB VRAM instead of 16. That hardly makes it obsolete.

I still wouldn't buy one right now. Maybe after the 9070 XT release when its price has (hopefully) dropped a little bit.

Not necessarily. It isn't Nvidia, demand isn't that high. I can't see AMD pulling an artificial shortage trick, either. They don't need to retain chips for a Super "refresh" after all.

On the aftermarket, it happens to be severely discounted so... might be a reasonable investment. Won't do it personally though, I already own an AMD GPU. Want a green one just for the diversity. And DLSS, yes.

Yeah and Nvidia said the 5080 is faster than the 4080, and it's only better by a few percent, so I'm not sure why anyone was waiting for that either. But hey, you do you.
4080 Fe vs 5080 Fe is 15% faster.

But because big OC headroom in 5080 its closer to 4090

Not everyone have 4080, ppls upgrade from 1000,2000 or from 3000 series to 5000 series.

You mean the 5070 beating the 4070 Super, as the 5070Ti is beating the 4070Ti Super, as the 5080 beating the 4080 Super, as the 5090 beating the 4090.

RX 9070 is beating the 4070 Super and the RX 9070XT is beating the 4070Ti Super.

9070XT will not outperform the 4080 Super!

Remember we are paying for old performance this round unfortunately thanks Nvidia and AMD.

Cheers

A cheaper 7900 XT with better ray tracing wouldn't be awful at the right price.

nvidia exaggerates with the announcements for the announcements of the announcements, the deadline for the unboxing, and the reviewing,.... but AMD is playing a completely different game. At this point does anyone need a launch "party" when we almost know everything about them except the price.

You have to tease the teaser of the teaser these days to keep people interested in thin air and make them forget that there's actually nothing new going on.

Imagine the reactions if Mr Jensen held a 12-second presentation saying "RTX 50 is RTX 40 just one number higher", or if Dr Lisa came on stage only to say that we'll get a 7900 XT with a touch more RT and AI.

Jeez people, AMD has already told you how fast it is. Multiple times.

If you really look at that chart. It states that the 7900xtx is slower than the 4080 series of cards. The general consensus around the web is(it's not). So that chart is either intentionally misaligned by AMD themselves or they f**k'd unknowingly. With the way they've been moving lately, it could be a bit of both.

Let's say the leak from MLID is true. In the charts he showed those cards are competent with the 7900xt(x). He also claimed those results are from December. Now take into consideration that AMD said the cards are performing better than expected and better than what the leaks were showing. I believe MLID leaks were after Azor said what he said, but MLID leaks corroborate with earlier leaks of rdna4... showing that the cards are actually punching above their weight(specs) class.

Isn't it not fair to say that the cards are in the 7900xtx/4080s tier of performance?

So just towards the end of Lunar new year celebrations in SE Asia.
Probably after so production can get into full swing to meet demand.

based on leaks so far it seems like stock is already available with retailers, maybe with official announcements end of Lunar new year will help with replenishing stocks.

It's a shame the best they can offer is 70-level performance and call it a flagship.

I really wish people would stop blowing up the expectations of this GPU. AMD themselves put out a chart and at the very high end it is equal to a 7900XT. Its all about the price this time not the performance for AMD.

That chart is bullocks... look at the positioning of the 7000 series cards in relation to the others.

It's very clear AMD chart from AMD!

RX 9070XT is 100% below the RTX "4080 Super" & RX "7900 XTX".

Not sure why people are trying to make performance out of nowhere expecting miracles both companies are against us consumers right now we're not getting what we pay for they're all aiming for 2-year+ old 4080 GPU... Two years old performance at a lower price point.

Don't forget about all RTX are getting an software driver upgrade! DLSS 4 Enhanced driver for all RTX cards! Just putting another nail in AMD's coffin this 9000 series round.

Cheers

No.

Have you not been paying attention to everything AMD has been saying. Like why it’s even called a 9070?

The chart is directly from AMD.

Cool story bro. Just got a second GTX 980TI for $80. "obsolete technology" according to Google AI. LOL. 45,000+ on Firestrike.... LOLLLLLLL.

I'm not trying to make anything... if part of the chart is wrong then why should I consider it? The chart shows the 4080 faster than the 7900xtx... we all know that's wrong unless it's not raster. I don't use frame gen or any of that mess I like natural gaming with minimal latency. Go spread that fud to someone that cares to take you and ngreedias pricing.
7900xtx is better and was cheaper than a 4080(s) yet ppl still bought the nvidia card. Ppl like you is why the market is the way it is. Yall cry n moan about features yall don't use.

No.

So i guess a 5070=4090 right...o my bad it's nvidia... they can do no wrong. I guess we should believe them.

What? Why are you bringing Nvidia into this?

AMD said they renamed the GPU to 9070 because it’s a Nvidia 70 class GPU. Do you need to be fed the multiple interview videos explaining this, or do you think you can one yourself? Frank Azor is the name you are looking for. Director of Radeon marketing is his title.

Blind fanboyism strikes again.

Blind fanboism....i don't take nothing anyone say without actual numbers behind it. The chart clearly shows what it shows. All I said was im not taking it seriously cause the chart also have "you know the rx7000" series listed on it. It's clear who's blind...i said the chart have the 7000 series below the rtx 4080 series. Take from it whatever you want.
I guess I'm the fanboy that runs both a 4080 and 6900xt currently right? Yall love to call names. Stick behind the keyboard and pretend to know what these companies do.

I said nvidia told yall the 5070=4090 right? So I guess you believed Jensen because oh nvidia said it. That is why I brought nvidia into the equation. If you can't deduce why that was said in contrast to what you said then by all means avoid me and my comments. This new breed of forum'ism is why I stay off forums.
