AMD today released Radeon Software Adrenalin 21.11.2 drivers, which come just in time for the Early Access release of "Battlefield 2042" later today. The game's general release is slated for November 19. Tested at 4K UHD with Ultra settings, the new drivers up to 14% higher performance over previous drivers for the RX 6900 XT, up to 15% higher performance for the RX 6800 XT, and up to 11% higher for the RX 6700 XT. The company did not put out any bug-fixes with this release. Grab it from the link below.

Support For Battlefield 2042
  • Up to 14% increase in performance in Battlefield 2042 @ 4K Ultra Settings, using Radeon Software Adrenalin 21.11.2 on the 16 GB Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics card, versus the previous software driver version 21.10.4.RS-431
  • Up to 15% increase in performance in Battlefield 2042 @ 4K Ultra Settings, using Radeon Software Adrenalin 21.11.2 on the 16 GB Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics card, versus the previous software driver version 21.10.4.RS-432
  • Up to 11% increase in performance in Battlefield 2042 @ 4K Ultra Settings, using Radeon Software Adrenalin 21.11.2 on the 16 GB Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card, versus the previous software driver version 21.10.4.RS-433
Known Issues
  • During Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy gameplay, some users may experience driver timeouts on some AMD Graphics products such as Radeon RX 5500 XT Graphics. A temporary workaround is to disable the Radeon Anti-Lag feature in Radeon Software.
  • Some users may experience elevated disk space consumption by the Multimedia Athena Dumps folder.
  • Visual artifacts may be observed while playing Call of Duty : Black Ops Cold War on some AMD Graphics products such as Radeon RX 6800M Graphics.
  • While playing PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds with multiple displays connected in extended mode, Radeon Software may become unresponsive when the user is in the lobby and attempts to open Radeon Software on the secondary display via the context menu. A temporary workaround is to press the Alt + R keyboard shortcut if this happens.
  • Enhanced Sync may cause a black screen to occur when enabled on some games and system configurations. Any users who may be experiencing issues with Enhanced Sync enabled should disable it as a temporary workaround.
  • Radeon performance metrics and logging features may intermittently report extremely high and incorrect memory clock values.

it troubles me that that radeon gets so much performance boost in games from a mere software update... makes me wonder how many smaller titles simply don't get the proper treatment... :/

Usually there are only big improvements when the game runs bad in the first place. BF2042 is notoriously badly optimized.

Probably due to hardware scheduling , and optimization of utilisation.

Well if AAA games aren't optimised, i have few hope for those barely optimized indie or less popular/budget games and i always wonder if i could get more FPS if they looked at it.

I have one game on my 6800 that even get graphic glitch and i am not sure if that will ever be fixed.

Will be installing this later today.

I'm not sure if this is still relevant, but I have heard some time ago from driver Devs that games ship broken and get fixed with the driver. Because of this, I don't have high hopes for the intel gpu driver.

Updated but my PC is crashing after 10-20 mins of BF2042 gameplay, same for other people on other forums. Rolling back for now. The performance was better though, new drivers eliminated the drops to 70-80FPS and stayed over 100FPS most of the time(1440P ultra)

Most recently, I keep seeing what looks like a broken version after a broken version. Is the broken anti-lag going to become a meme like "enhanced sync"?

So, looks like I'm staying with 21.8.2.

EA being EA.

some BF2042 maps are crashing the driver on my PC , this is weird but I guess I should not have any expectations from AMD drivers, bad like always

Working just fine in my games and applications. Perhaps early access EA game is buggy?

I should add that I rolled back to 21.11.1 and its been completely fine for 6+ hours play today

Game devs got lazy as hell

I typically dont upgrade month to month. I heard Radeon Pro Drivers are very stable

It is 2021, imagine people expecting EA titles to actually function out of the box. o_O

Still running something from Q1, should have time to update during Christmas break.............that is unless, someone wants to take 2 kids, 2 dogs, 3 guinea pigs and a wife off my hands for a week ;)

I haven't expected that for 10 years now but EA are not the only culprits involved in putting out half arsed under baked and poorly optimised games

I can take the wife 2 dogs and 3 guinea pigs but I'm afraid you'll need to find a kennel for those 2 kids

EA has the distinction of being the most consistent at releasing buggy messes and ignoring all feed back from testing.
The only exception is maybe games from Respawn.
EA out did themselves in BF2042 in making the game runs worse than BFV or BF1, while looking worse than either of those.
