AMD Radeon VII 3D Mark, Final Fantasy XV Benchmarks Surface - Beats and Loses to RTX 2080

Nothing to see here until the actual review....

Not interested in leaks, it just causes nothing but trouble and comments from either side having a paddy... Best leave it be and wait till TPU reviews it for real...

i'm not liking what i'm seeing, hopefully ryzen 3rd gen won't have disappointing results like the radeon vii.

But then technically AMD has never explicitly stated that it's actually on par with RTX 2080.

For $700 and the same lame power consumption as current Vega it would want to stomp the 2070 and match the 2080. Still had no interest in Vega II, when is Navi coming?

will the only 2 people that ever buy it let us know if it's any good? thanks in advance.

Ill buy it simply to support a second gpu option, if you dont have a $1200 Ngreedia then you need to stop flaming a new site... .

Why say it "beats" the 2080 when it was getting butchered all over the place, let alone embarrassingly getting beaten by a 1080Ti at 1440p?? So much for a Vega refresh & the use of HBM v2...

Its frickin FFXV benchmark. Who gives a flying f about that. Worst thing to bench with, I don't think AMD gives 2 shi*ts about that lol. Someone clearly wanted to troll the card. this is when you only release the worst benchmark known to mankind. FFXV can't die fast enough.

8700K @ 5.3 + 1080 Ti @ 2190 / 1600.

looks like they succeeded in one thing.making the red fanbease red.

Common guys, this card is in the same league for price/performance as the RTX 2070 card, with a little plus for the AMD card. That's all. I'm worried about power consumption though....

@cucker tarlson good one. Also, if there's someone who want to "troll" a Vega refresh, I don't think there is when AMD's supposedly new GPU is performing this badly. Let's all wait for official reviews from here, Linus, Jayz etc and then we say our opinions at a future thread/post regarding about it? Can we all be patient for it?

The Radeon VII is AMD's cry for help.

I think AMD better find something they're good at and stick to it... and fast. Remember not that long ago when AMD stock was $2/share? If Zen 2 doesn't impress it's about to hit rock bottom. They may have fanboys but they're sure as hell losing actual market confidence.

@Blueberries problem here is that AMD has been playing this game with one hand behind their backs, doesn't matter the consequences & having such persistence can't be understood by anyone. Unless, they have some sort of ace in their pockets... until then, I won't see them recovering until they managed to get some traction from Nvidia's growing, uninterrupted presence in the GPU market space.

What exactly did you expect? Lets get to the point, this is a Vega GPU with less CUs and higher clocks on GPU and memory.
It can't do wonders...

Who leaked those bench? Do AMD employers know about crap FFXV bench? every time that they want to announce new card , FFXV always comes to first , I wonder why is that?

Uhm you can get RTX 2070 for $499, this ones msrp is $699. And last time I checked RTX 2080 price/perf was bad, even at $699(Granted there's no $699 cards tested on tpu, but overall performance deficit does not warrant $200 price gap between the two).

Those results look shady. Why does Titan Xp Collectors Edition score much lower than a normal Titan Xp? Also Radeon is almost on par with GTX 980 Ti, seems totally BS.

Its a sad day when linus and j2c are deemed "official" reviews. Lol

They seem to 'control' Youtube, so I'm guessing that's where most people get information to or from. I like Jay not so keen on Linus but as with anything, I take it with a pinch of salt until I hear from TPUand a few other sites, if they are all singing from the same hymn sheet or near enough, then that's good enough for me :)

They are the only company from the big hardware trio that has increased their market valuation for 2018 - something that has been over all tech sites the last couple of days - so why write stuff with your butt and waste my time explaining obvious stuff to you? xD

He means price/performance ratio, not price/performance class.

RTX 2080 performance at rtx 2080 price, thus perf/price would be the same. Granted perf/price might be the same as $599 RTX 2070 FE/AIB versions, but overall that is a bad buy compared to cards closer to msrp.

I'm not expecting many surprises here. Its likely going to end up within spitting range of a stock 2080 and lacks the OC headroom. Vega all over again.

As for this FFXV 'benchmark'... please. Stahp. Its completely unreliable.

I think this sounds reasonable. Perhaps the new style cooler will allow for a little more headroom? It would have been nice to see them come in price wise slightly under the non-OC'd 2080's.

At this point with what is widely known about this "benchmark", I honestly feel that if someone is making that their 'go-to' for any sort of comparison tool that they are intentionally looking to skew results at worst, or muddy the waters at best. I can get wildly varying scores on back to back to back runs every time. It needs to go away permanently for anything other than someone that wants to visually see differences in motion between AA and DLSS. It serves no other purpose. With as much time and work that goes into benchmarking, it boggles my mind why some willingly wastes theirs just to publish results that lack any real use (clickbait, apparently) at the expense of their own credibility.

@Franzen4Real also, I doubt the folks here have such luxury to write a "plz lemme loan this GPU for a few days" letter while waiting for NDA to be lifted, use current beta build drivers, install a clean copy of Windows etc when they don't even bother doing it. All they can muster up to defend it is links to other sites or videos that has little to no credibility.
