AMD today released its Athlon 3000G low-cost desktop processor to cap off its entry-level. Based on the 14 nm "Raven Ridge" silicon, the chip combines a 2-core/4-thread CPU based on the original "Zen" microarchitecture, with Radeon Vega 3 integrated graphics based on the "Vega" architecture, and featuring 3 NGCUs (192 stream processors). AMD dialed up the CPU clock speeds to 3.50 GHz, a 300 MHz increase over that of the "previous gen" 200GE, and iGPU engine clock speed by 100 MHz to 1.10 GHz. A unique feature this time around is unlocked base-clock multiplier, enabling CPU overclocking. AMD is pricing the Athlon 3000GE at just $49 (MSRP), it competes with Intel's Pentium Gold G5000 series processors.

These are perfect CPUs for Roblox, YouTube and Facebook..aka a child/senior PC.

My daughter has a 200GE in her PC, clocked to 4 Ghz, it's fine for light gaming. I switched it out from a i7 980X to save a little power, she hasn't noticed any difference.

At just $49 you want to build a little PC, just for fun, even if you don't need a little PC.

Htpc/nas use here

Intel is actually better for NAS, if you want to use it as any sort of media streamer as well.
and why did you mention intel?

Tbf i could use my athlon xp 2500 for nas

How fast is this compared to an old Phenom II X4 910e?

Can it run Sims 4 on its own with some 16GB memmory and board+psu?

I am on a budget for my sister's pc, budget is tight and maybe i go with a black edition X6 as a upgrade only for the cpu and keep the 16Gb ddr3 (1600Mhz) and add a sata ssd later instead of a rebuild with this cpu and a new board/ram?

A perfect CPU for a MediaCenter in livingroom
Bye
