AMD Reports First Quarter Results

AMD is probably doing fine, but they could definitely use more revenue while simultaneously cutting costs. Acquiring tons of companies is a risky move, because all it takes is one really weak quarter and they are a stones throw from bankruptcy.

it reminds me of General Motors ;)

Don't forget they are repaying big loan from when they bought ATi. Perhaps this is the major part of the expenditures. I think they are doing great. Perhaps bulldozer design was too early brought to desktop, because on the server front it is magnificent.

You can't tell these people anything. They will believe whatever intel paid sponsor review website says. They keep trying to bench opterons on shitty windows apps just like the desktop counterpart. It's asinine. Almost no one dares to do linux

People act like first quarter losses and downs are a big problem and are horrible... The problem is our world is a live by the spur of the moment world now; with twitter and face book and news at every second people want things so fast and make judgements so fast.

The reality is no one buys anything in Q1. Get over it... AMD is doing fine and will continue to do fine. They might not have the market cap of Intel, but what they do is offer a cheaper alternative to intel. Competition is good, and it will never go away.

Truth of the matter is no one wants to see amd fall...they,are the value alternative to intel......and most intel users prob use amd gpus....(should take a poll). Things only get polarized when ludacris claims are made.
