Hell Divers 2 still crashes on my setup cos i run dual monitor :(
Do you have your monitors set to the same refresh rate?

I havnt had a problem with HD 2 crashing..
For some people, there was a problem at launch but like I said there was a patch released from the Devs about 2 weeks later that solved my issues.

Issue for me with HD2 was my OC. I returned to default and it works without issues. Even the Power Limit needed to be default. Otherwise crash after 5 minutes.

Anyone playing call of duty like call of duty MWIII
̶f̶l̶a̶s̶h̶b̶a̶n̶g̶ smoke grenades by the looks of it can trigger visual bug slowly turning your screen black, if seen this bug reported on reddit a few times, it might be map specific.

edit: it looks like its smoke effect from smoke grenade causing this issue, Dying Light 2 recently got RGB laser show fixed in 24.3.1 looks like environmental smoke effects cause problems for AMD least on rdna3 cards such as the 7900 XTX.
Even enshrouded was broken at 1 point on 24.1.1 the environmental effects did not render and you did not need a torch in caves.

Well they are aware things are happening, i guess AMD does not like it when they are told they ignore issues.

Perhaps they will work with Blizzard as well to fix the World of Warcraft issues as well that if been having for 482+ days ?

also their lot of reports of browser flickering since 24.3.1 like chrome based browsers especially, their 1 user report of disabling MPO fixing this issue, so MPO issues are possibly making a return, i already keep telling anyone that has the issue to fire up AMD Bug Report Tool and report the issue, cos i do not want to go thru 8+ months of driver issues again.

And why do I (or anyone would) want to be a beta tester?
Care to elaborate please?

Can't. NDA. All I'll say is I want to throw my 7900 XTX out the window at least half as often since getting access to the Vanguard private betas.

I see...
Well, personally want to keep my 7900XTX inside the room at all times since I do not have any issues with it from day1 (3 months now).
But thanks anyway. Maybe someone can benefit from this.

There is also the fact that AMD drivers are universal. When you have 2 different AMD cards in your system the software will recognize them both. Even something as crazy as a 7600 and Vega 64.
I mean, no, not with recent drivers. GCN based hardware like Vega has been on a separate branch/bundle for a bit now.

It's so strange seeing people complain about drivers, I've literally had no issues whatsoever for over a year, what am I doing differently ?
Possibly playing different games (pretty much no one escaped HD2 unscathed if they played on a 7xxx at launch).

If you somehow did, that's like, amazing, because nearly no one did.

Ditto. I've got ~651 games installed ranging from current releases to old DOSBox ports on a dual screen setup with mixed resolutions. The only time I have problems is when I start getting the undervolt itch and push things too far. The only things I change from stock is the hotkeys for ReLive with a registry tweak, plus whatever undervolt I want to apply at the time (if any).

Otherwise my drivers have been flawless across a 6950 XT and a 7900 XTX. It's really odd to see so many people having so many issues. Not that i'm trying to discount anyone's claims of instability mind you, it's just interesting to have such a disparate experience.

All it tells me is that AMD isn't testing on even half the PC configurations they should be.

What's Radeon Vanguard?

Possibly playing different games (pretty much no one escaped HD2 unscathed if they played on a 7xxx at launch).

If you somehow did, that's like, amazing, because nearly no one did.
I haven't had any issues, either - apart from the high idle power with the early drivers which was fixed pretty soon. I wish they fixed the Chrome/VLC power consumption too, but oh well.

It's so strange seeing people complain about drivers, I've literally had no issues whatsoever for over a year, what am I doing differently ?
We dont dive on games at launch. We are apparently a rare bunch ;)

What's Radeon Vanguard?
Early builds for patches and more direct support

All it tells me is that AMD isn't testing on even half the PC configurations they should be.
Possibly. Its also hard to completely rule out PEBCAK. Though I agree stuff should just work, its not always quite so simple given the arcane configs people come up with - while said people also feel smart enough to do lots of manual tweaks in software and OS.

Ive learned this the hard way and for that reason I tend to recommend not chasing the cutting edge. Almost everything in PC tech gets delivered unfinished. Its really the double edged blade that PC gaming is: lots of freedom, so lots of ways to break stuff. Its fine that way, but its an acquired taste. I see a lot of people the last 5-10 years thinking PC gaming is a 'food carried to your doorstep' kind of thing like consoles are. Its not. It only is, if you are satisfied with that same console experience: average settings, no arcane configuration settings or hardware combos, nothing too old or too new, etc. We have to appreciate the fact that the PC landscape, both in terms of hardware AND software that directly impacts the games we play, is developing at breakneck speed too lately, after a long period of limbo within DX11. The new APIs are game changers, and we're also moving into a world of cross play, streamed play, etc.

Even Nvidia for all of its investment in software is developing driver branches with (minor) bugs pretty often lately.

This is several hours of idling...

View attachment 341819

12-13W avg power
Used to be able to go down towards 10w tbp with 3840x1600 @ 144hz and 1080x1920 @ 60 hz when going fullscreen on YouTube and pause video playback, but it now only go's down to 25w so it gotten worse again.
Also starting steam big picture causes memory not to downclock making idle go towards 90+ until steam is restarted.
even going controller calibration or settings trigger this until steam restart.

Normally i would join such program however AMD messed up and their terms and conditions are laughable like not taking responsibility for anything, after that mess up with anti-lag+ no i do not think i will.
Let them go thru the bug reports like normal, and if they ignore i just make memes about them instead and shove those into my bug reports instead.
I really liked anti-lag+ tho and what happened to many players sucks but issues like these always get resolved, however if you in the vanguard program while testing you may get vac banned before date the driver officially hit, they may not overturn your ban as a result, which is exactly why i highly recommend not joining that program.
I do not mind communicating via special channels to get issues fixed faster, but i have zero interest in testing things under NDA that are probably so highly experimental that it triggers anti cheat to freak out.
If they release this kind of stuff to the masses and make a mistake i get annoyed at most, cos reality is its gonna get resolved, and i am pretty sure their been users banned and not unbanned their was 1 user that reported getting banned and did not get unbanned as of yet, however if the guy is lying guess will never find out.

Their are so many issues these days with drivers and the RGB laser show bug only got fixed after a lot of nagging without any mention of a fix.
While Radeon Boost issue remains while RT is turned off for example.
However the above issue is avoidable by either turning of radeon boost with alt+k or turning on ray tracing.
Its kind of hilarious Radeon Boost gives different results with directx11 vs directx12 and their used be 3 different glitches now their are 2, AMD never acknowledged their was an issue with Radeon Boost with Raytracing being off however, anyway this is how i expected known issues to be.

RGB disco aura will engage during camera movement in directx12 ultimate with ray tracing turned off (workaround turn off radeon boost using alt+k default key binding.)
Camera will freeze up during movement (workaround turn off radeon boost using alt+k default key binding.)

as for with RT on this was listed already.

As for fixed issues still be useful to know, alto i would probably fact check anyway.
Fixed a bug with environmental smoke/gas/etc effects causing an RGB laser show or RGB rectangles to appear on screen during gameplay/cutscenes.

Also knowing which games have known issues with stability like driver timeouts is very useful as it reduces my stress and gives me hint to perhaps try something else for the time being.

If been reading reddit and forums a lot lately in combination with my own reports their are now 38 known issues in my own known issue list most of them are reported multiple times by multiple users.

If not 1 known issue manages to get on list next driver i am gonna cringe so hard.

It's so strange seeing people complain about drivers, I've literally had no issues whatsoever for over a year, what am I doing differently ?

That just means you are playing probably 1 of the newer games that is very stable a lot, while mostly playing older games that tend to have less issues.
first year when i owned 6900 XT i had 0 issues for 1 whole year, all i played was World of Warcraft and many old games, when i started buying newer games which is why i upgraded after like 1 year i started running into more and more issues, also 2022 happened a lot of users had MPO related issues which are easy to identify with black screens out of nowhere ignoring freeze before it if it freezes before it is result of driver timeout, if you instantly go black screen without freeze its a MPO issue like after alt tabbing, also related green screens pink screen grey screens assuming you do not freeze first, pink screen could be triggered in broken drivers by turning on and off gpu scaling avg user does not do that, but if you enable it on both screens you did its avoid able issue however that is no longer an issue.
Anyway these are old issues that no longer exist hopefully won't come back, however in really case case with AFMF on you can trigger driver timeout when frequently alt tabbing, which is when i recommend disabling AFMF to avoid problems like when actively chatting while gaming on discord.

Well I got dragon's Dogma 2 partly for the complaints about performance. It looks like my theory of getting better of the same hardware in the console has once again provided a smooth glorious experience that makes me just enjoy the Game for what it is.
