no i didnt have Q&C on if you want a real overclock you cant as the drop in voltage will cause your pc to crash!!

I wouldn't reccomend that 1550. I hear they don't play nice with dx 9

Opty 170 FTW!! Mine is just as good as those 180's and 185's, and with your motherboard you should be able to get thier speeds OC'd, if not better.

You know what, your FX5500 might just be better than that x1550 anyway. I played Oblivion on an FX5200 fine.

I thought that faster the Core and Memory Clock, the better the performance, and higher benchmarks.

Not necessarily. Just because something has higher clocks doesn't mean it'll be faster. Clock per clock Intel is killing AMD right now. And while that X1550 is "faster" than your FX5500, it isn't by much in the real world. You should save up for something nicer rather than spending a little bit just to have it NOW. There was a thread on here talking about deals on X1900GT's going for 90 bucks that you should check out.
