AMD today released its latest update to AMD Software Adrenalin drivers. Version 24.6.1 WHQL comes with optimization for "The First Descendant" and "Once Human." The drivers add HYPR-TUNE profiles for Like a Dragon 8: Infinite Wealth, Overwatch 2, The First Descendant, F1 24, and Outpost: Infinity Siege. HYPR-RX adds up to 149% performance to Radeon RX 7800 XT in Baldur's Gate 3, F1 23, Resident Evil 4 and more titles. The drivers add official support for Windows 11 24H2 update. AMD launched Anti-Lag 2 technology in May 2024, and announced the first title that support it through these drivers—Counter Strike 2. Among the issues fixed with this release include Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas failing to launch, a driver timeout with Helldivers 2 on RX 7900 series GPUs, and AMD Software performance metrics intermittently failing with this title, and a display freeze error with certain FreeSync displays.

I just installed these.

Normally I catch it on reddit first but it seems TPU was first this time around.

Its easy to roll back if I find an issue so I usually jump on them at release.

I never had an issue installing a release day driver for any company.

I think I am going to wait another month or two before I upgrade mine though, I just have no need.

I find all this new crap from AMD to be utter junk though, like HYPR-RX and frame gen in every game (I tried it and it makes games look horrible). AMD has been great for me for just basic raster gaming and stability though, I have no issues with it in that regard, I just finished Jedi Survivor and it was like 150+ fps the entire time in raster native rez FSR turned off.

so i just ignore all this new crap, cause I care about is raster anyway as native rez looks best to my eyes.

Adrenalin 24.1.1 completely borked nearly half of my games when it came out, BF2042 and GTA V especially. After that they've been completely stable though

Same here on the features though, most of them don't have very much impact unless you have a relatively lower end GPU. One of my buddies with an RX 6600 uses FSR for almost everything and he appreciates being able to get more life out of his GPU because of it. Really the only feature I use out of their whole set is FRTC to cap my FPS at 160 to prevent screen tearing and standard anti lag in some competitive FPS games.

I don't use the AMD driver frame capping, it doesn't seem to work in a lot of games, I still use rivatuner for that and I set rivatuner to medium hooking

right now i have my limit at 0, but i usually leave mine on 160 too

- I've gotten to a point where I don't even update drivers unless there is a specific feature or issue that I am having with a game.

Never really understood the point of habitually upgrading drivers on release when everything is working as it should be, can really only either stay the same or cause problems...

That said I've also never run into really *any* driver issues from either Nvidia or DAAMIT.

I agree with this. HYPR-RX is just a combination of all the previously released technologies. It's basically Radeon Boost, FSR, Anti-Lag and RSR (upscaling) all enabled.

For some reason FRTC has never worked right for me at all, starting with my 5700XT 5 years ago. RTSS has always worked perfectly though.

Not sure if due to ratchet & clank: rift apart patch or due driver but the flickering issue has been fixed, ̶f̶r̶a̶m̶e̶g̶e̶n̶ ̶l̶o̶o̶k̶s̶ ̶b̶r̶o̶k̶e̶n̶ ̶t̶h̶o̶, tested fine in spider man remastered haven't tested in Ghost of tsushima yet, seems anti-lag is breaking framegen if set via in game options.

Oh god I'm having flashbacks to 24.1.1 :fear:
I'm still using 24.1.1 and it still seems better than a fair amount of releases in 2023 and 2022. The only problem I have is that GTA V, is randomly getting terminated unexpectedly, which I haven't had this issue in years! The last time I saw that, was in the late-2010s! (before I got my GTX 970, it was happening with my GTX 960) The other issue is that with Beam NG. drive, in DirectX mode, it appears to force AFMF to enabled, even when set to disabled!

With 23H2, it's not recommended to try any version before 24.1.1! Because of a reported issue of Adrenalin reporting unexpected failure on a normal boot.

I had that issue but they fixed it ages ago man, I want to say like 24.3 or something?

So far I haven't experienced any of the above issues but I don't play any of those games either. YMMV.

No issues here, however the flickering issue i mentioned that was fixed in ratchet & clank: rift apart also exist in spiderman miles morales already send a bug report to AMD, the game however has no option for fullscreen effects which previously helped get rid of the flickering in ratchet & clank: rift apart.
Some users have issues with these drivers to, some cannot even install them i am on 23H2 my self without issues so far, many issues got fixed as well but no mention of fixes at all.
