AMD today released the second hotfix update to Catalyst 11.6, which provides immediate fixes to bugs found with the previous hotfix. Catalyst 11.6b Hotfix update fixes a BSOD error noted when connecting a HDMI and DisplayPort based display to an AMD Radeon HD graphics card running on Catalyst 11.6. It also fixes random screen flickering noted when idling, as well as a mouse pointer corruption issue found with older Catalyst releases. Apart from this, it packs the key feature of Caralyst 11.6a Hotfix, support for AMD A8-3800 and A6-3600 series accelerated processing units.

is this better than 11.4?

Read the release notes. ;) This hotfix, like the 11.6a hotfix is for AMD's new APU's

Personally, I think 11.5's and 11.6's are better than 11.4's. Use what works, one driver may be good for one configuration than the other.

hmm i havnt updated in a while so i may give this one a run

ive found the 11.7 preview with cat 11.6cap2 proflies added to be pretty good;).

OMG, I'v only been waiting for near two years for the cursor corruption fix...1 year 10 months! HORRAY!!!~~

I wouldn't as you don't use an APU. Try the regular 11.6's.

these two items:

◦Screen flickering when the system is idle
◦Mouse pointer corruption found in previous AMD Catalyst releases

Have nothing to do with APUs, at all, and as such, you are very wrong to claim that this driver is for APUs only. I've been dealing with these two specific issues since the HD5870 launch in 2009. Thanks. ;)

I need some new TPU Mobility Radeon drivers. They're the only ones that work with my notebook (different device IDs and PowerXPress) and I've been on 11.4 for 3 months.

If this finally fixes that bloody screen flixer on my my 3 monitor setup with a single 5850, I might actually regain my faith in ati/amd and not settle for my current tri-sli gtx 260s.

I can only hope!

I don't know why I screw with crap that is already working properly. I have a HIS 5750 card and after update my monitors started to flicker real bad. I just rolled back to previos and all is fine again. Don't recommend the update if you have a 5750 card.

Never had those issues. Congrats this solved it for you.

I would also like mobility drivers for a ATI X700

driver support for the X series of mobility cards on VIsta/Win7 have been dropped for a very very long. I had to use mobility modder just to get drivers for my X1600MR to work properly in Windows7.

you'd be stupid to expect them to pick up the ball again and start making drivers when they already declared they wont be adding support for the cards in vista/win7

i think the last drivers i have for the x700 are like cat 5's or somthing

was just wondering if there was anything newer?

nope. thats why i downloaded the LEGACY driver pack (cat 10.2 for me) which had the drivers in there and used mobility modder to mod the desktop driver to work for mobility
