It's an amazing feat I think with the cooling. I mean it would be interesting to see what it would be with a bit of ambient water or if you wanted to push the boat out, chilled water but that's more for fact finding

I used to love doing that stuff!!

I can watch him but not really a fan.. Same as the guy with all the hair (Steve was it??) Just my opinion but his voice grates on me, so tend to skip or mute lol

I must admit, I'm not a fan of the ad's he does in the videos... Really frustrating just like when Youtube decides to put an ad right in the middle of what you're watching.....

No, he hasn't earned where he is, he's forced his way in with a lot of companies, at the expense of other media, as he demands exclusives and for some unfathomable reason, he gets them.
He irks me to the 'nth degree.

Suing him isn't worth the trouble, no way he's got the $$ to pay any kind of settlement against him for whatever and I have other suspicions about it all too.... :ohwell:

On the flipside I can't exactly blame him just for doing it either - Sometimes instead of sticking your foot in, you gotta kick in the door to get anywhere nowadays, just how it is.

Pretty much. A lot of people in the industry loathes the guy, but because he's got a lot of viewers/followers, higher management at a lot of companies feel like he should get exclusives.
If you've ever seen how he behaves when he comes with his crew at trade shows, you know the guy has a super inflated ego, if the videos doesn't give it away already.
He's actually really quite rude to people and he's even walked away from some companies, as they refused to give him and his crew exclusive access to their suite at trade shows.
Also, keep in mind that he charges US$10-20k for videos at trade shows, so none of his coverage is "free" so to say.
I'm just glad the industry wasn't like this when I was writing about tech.

I never had to kick any doors in, in fact, good relationships are a lot more important than being an egotistical knob.
Sure, it takes time to build up a reputation in the industry, but if you're fair and honest with what you cover, you don't tend to have any issues.

I could tell there was "Attitude" with him, no doubt.
Ones like that are best kept out and away, you woudn't need them or their toxicity getting involved with your business.

Since he does have all the followers he has, uses that as leverage - No doubt in my mind about it.
I'm not saying he does a terrible job, in fact he's good at what he does.

He can be an ass all he wants, if he wants - It's his right to be who and what he wants to be but when it comes down to what I do (Overclocking) don't bring that attitude/sh!t my way or someone's gonna get educated.

I think its a pretty smart guy with a very good feel for communication. But effective =/= pleasant

And yes credit where's it is due IMO, if you can and do play the game hard and get results... I mean, its not like babies were murdered in the process or anything. Showbiz is always full of crap like this, hell I think it has to be part of your skillset to survive, even.

As always, without completion the dominating company becomes purposefully complacent to increase profits. Which is what happened to Intel, the reverse could also happen should Intel fall far behind AMD.

(Discounting the fun fact both companies now bet everything on completing Jim Keller CPU designs)

Some monstrous chips from amd. The table truly has turned now as amd more or less dominate mainstream as HEDT a like.

But threadripper is way over my budget and frankly my needs as well. I settle with a Ryzen 9 3950X if I can get one, as I dit order one fast after they got on sale, But not sure if it was fast enough to get one in the first shipment from amd.

Intels X299/I9 10980XE is pretty much a dead end. To power hungry, can hardly pull ahead of 3950X in most cases and there 14 nm is just a joke at this point.
