AMD to Enter the FPGA Market, in Advanced Talks to Acquire Xilinx

it would be much more interesting if AMD reclaimed their IP with a Lattice Semi acquisition :D
Actually size wise Lattice would be way easier to chew for AMD.

Turns out you can remove your Ruby posters lads, AMD isn't the underdog you know and love any more.

Will always hold Ruby in my heart
I still remember the "scientific" debate about Ruby vs Nalu that, at some point, had "Ruby is the kind of girl you don't take home to mama" in it. Good ol' days.

You actually want a CPU architecture from ~2015 (Puma+) that was really weak even for its time? Even a single OG Zen core with HT would be better than that.

They're also low power and powerful enough for Rpi-equivalence. I'd love a low power x86 small size cheap board. I also want AMD to go back to low power stuff.

Wankers, the lot of them, literally.

It is so interesting that they can purchase Xilinx. They are up to snuff.
That comparison is very interesting! But imo their real competitor in this case is nvidia rather than Intel. The next big thing is driverless cars and nvidia is all in that market.

All in? They used to be in the first Teslas when there was no dedicated AI Hardware available, now they were kicked out again.
