Just going to say it as a prediction for the hopefully incoming @W1zzard review with the release drivers: 2% faster than 1080FE on average. It will be closer to 1080Ti on new games with Vulcan, DX12 and especially when they start to get patched and take advantage of new features of Vega arch. Power consumption is looking high atm. Let's see in the next days if again, like Vega FE, the efficiency related features are disabled or not.

Update: The best GPU in the series of RX Vega will be the 56 for sure, being closer to 1080 than to 1070 for the 1070's price (officially at least as with the mining craziness none can be sure about GPU prices).

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
No, the one at videocardz that is linked two posts above.

I wouldn't call it awful.. seems mostly beating a 1080, but falls well short of 1080Ti for more power. But will wait to see something a bit more completed. :)

That Metro Last Light max fps metric speaks for itself. The 1080ti returns twice as high maximums. That single threaded driver is still destroying performance for AMD cards , looks like they still ignored this issue.

It looks just as expected, which is not awful, but pretty good actually as both 56 and 64 beat their designated nVidia targets in their price range. The 64 liquid edition is useless ofc. I don't even get where all that power is going lol

AMD Vega Instruction Set Architecture documentation

Understanding the instruction-level capabilities of any processor is a worthwhile endeavour for any developer writing code for it, even if the instructions that get executed are almost always hidden behind a higher-level language and compiler. If you’re working at that level as most are, the extra understanding you get from knowing exactly how the machine executes will hopefully help you write better code for it.

We’ve been releasing the ISA manuals for our GPUs for a long time now, and they reach all the way back to the venerable Radeon R600 (a GPU which helped usher in the DirectX®10 era back in 2006!). With the Radeon Vega Frontier Edition released recently, and Radeon RX Vega consumer hardware just around the corner, it’s time for us to add the Vega ISA manual to the list.

And now that they are out of NDA and info is official, just for certification of the power consumption plans of Vega RX 56 and RX 64, just look at the 6m15s of this video:

Computerbase.de is speculating that primitive shaders are not working. Can any one verify this?

https://www.computerbase.de/2017-08/radeon-rx-vega-64-56-test/8/
"The Draw Stream Binning Rasterizer (DSBR) is apparently still finished in the last second, but the High Bandwith Cache Controller (HBCC) is still switched off by default and Primitive Shaders are missing completely."

The real problem I have with the review is that it looks like something is wrong. The performance is all over the place either in relation to Fury or even the GTX cards.

Gotta say I feel somewhat vindicated by the 56's performance relative to the 1070. Looks like great value if it can be had for the MSRP. Even then it might be better to wait until October when the AIB's arrive.

I doubt this can be verified easily since it is a low level function. This optimization is supposed to take place in the very first rendering stages. Only way to tell is by using some sort of performance profiling tool provided by AMD themselves.

Anything coming in, the miners are just scooping up. No idea why you pay so much in Canada. All prices I've seen here are MSRP, granted I can't get any.
You're in US?
This is something that we discussed in mining topics. GPU prices in US didn't go up by much in June/July, but it resulted in empty stocks and long shipment times.
I find this very weird. Is there some law that doesn't let companies raise prices in the land of the free? Is there a price flexibility issue?

In most countries prices of GPUs went up by as much as 100%. This resulted in poor mining profitability, but as a result I was able to buy an RX580 or GTX1060 basically off-the-shelf, while most US-based people here were saying that it's almost impossible to get the former and difficult for the latter.
Today an MSI 1060 6GB Gaming X costs ~$410 in Poland - more or less as much as it used to in May. In early July, however, it wasn't easy to find one below $660.

GPU prices via retailers generally don't go up too much. There are "price gouging" laws, but they vary State by State. Generally a retailer who sells nationally will not raise prices too much because of this. The thing is, when an item gets in stock they do tend to sell right away to people that turn around and sell them at a profit.

The mining speeds doesnt appear much faster than any modded rx580 8gb.

look toward the middle of the review at "What about cryptocurrency mining?"
Its 31-33mh/s for these cards and about 40mh/s overclocked. Power draw is way to high for any sane miner to get. Like I said one or two weeks ago, sane miners wont be touching this thing.

Mad angry gamers can be happy toward miners now, its the price gouging people doing the work for increased prices.

ouch.... the irony of freesync vs gsync...

freesync is cheaper... if you can find a card for less than 130% of msrp. o_O

That's a nice, fast 1080ti price.

So yeah, basically every review says Vega 64 is bad. Some sites are nice about it and sugar coat it though. So again, at the moment, Vega64 is not the card to get. If I were set on it I would wait a while and see what driver's and non reference options do.

Yes true but I've got a freesync monitor and want to drive it hard. The 56 isn't listed yet where I ordered from and the local shop is going to ring me with availability. That was the card I wanted to begin with but as for now the only choice I had was the 64
