AS you might have seen, i have been having a problem with the bios not displaying with my r9 290.

Right, my card is a core edition. I got a box with it, and have checked the serial number on the box and card. It also says core edition on the sticker.

The bios is a standard bios, unless they are both different, as it doe appear to have two. I have looked on the TPU bios database and the version for the core edition is a different number.

Right, it seems the bios version on mine does not support UEFI, but the core edition one does. Is it worth flashing mine with the core edition bios?

My bios version-

Core edition 1-

Core edition 2-

Which one though, 1 or 2?

I wouldn't unless instructed by @XFXSupport. Different Stock keeping units bro

Why doe my card seem to have a normal bios, when the core edition ones are different, and mine IS a core edition?

Probably later changed to upgrade the card, but that's just a guess.

Done booted fine, got UEFI support now

Flashed it, with the xfx core bios. Neither of the bios's on my card were UEFI

Flashed number 1 from up there ^

Whew, glad it didn't brick, congrats, I presume this is what was needed for the boot issues on that motherboard?

Of anyone on here tigger and ket I wouldn't really have qualms with them saying they were flashing a BIOS lol

It's been a while.

Thanks for your faith in me :)

Well if I'm in a pinch i will refer to your gpu firmware prowess along with ketx and cdawalls.

I haven't a need to flash my 290 vaporx unit though lol
