AMD's Revolutionary Mantle Graphics API Adopted by Various Developers

Xbone sales have already equaled or outdone ps4. And this even with the later launch date.

Windows phone adoption is mediocre, surface sales suck, windows 8 is meh, but they are still selling 7.....so.

DX implementation involved hardware companies for years on 9, and it shows on Steam hardware surveys, its going to take years to get newer hardware. Windows 8 is faster with games though, Im not sure if the rest of the problems make it work adopting though.

sure, daily avg xboxone is outpacing ps4, but it still has yet to catch up.

and considering everything else i said, how can you argue that microsoft is not sucking wind?

and now you have chip makers actively working on an alternative to direct x. microsoft better focus on the office suite if they want to stay in business !!

Nah, I mean Microsoft has been sucking wind. Windows Phone sucked, Windows Tablet sales suck, Windows Surface sales suck, Windows 8 adoption sucks, XBOXONE by all measures is going to be trounced by PS4. Now you have companies actively looking for ways to get away from Windows as a PC gaming platform. Bye bye, Microsoft!
I hope your wrong and do believe you are at least for the forseable future as big business will always prop M$ up,, regardless of the insanity it displays, however their recent ONE OS for all stance does sound like The craziest Unworkable nonsense i've yet heard them chat, next they will be removing all the windows from its products due to it being a hang on from a bye gone era,, oh hang on they tried that and no ones buying it(8 metro Ui)

Direct X sucks, its that simple ,there are Two main Gpu types plus the 5-7 mobile gpu Architecture's so a dev need only devellope for 2 main APi's and opengl if they wished to go mostly bare metal mantel style and not use Dx.

I think also, that after developers have had to deal with Saturn, Ps2 , Ps3 and the like they are not so troubled these days adapting to new uArch's and Api's so all the doubt is unnecesary as the major stumbling block this might have had ie license fee's for its use(like with physx) is not there,,, so dev's only question is use or dont use and is not compounded by can we afford to use it though obviously there is a cost involved just imho not as hard a choice as with physx for eg or dx11 over dx9 either since developing shader code to handle physic's on GCN ie for Ps4 or Xbone is going to be relatively portable to mantle so the end user's that can buy in relative to money invested is going to pan out well for mantel, Time and Bf4 will soon tell eh, coincidentally im glad dice tied in with Mantle as I only bought Bf4 due to wanting a look at mantle, but im glad I did it rocks regardless

I think you have learned well from mailman. Your ability to troll is exceptional.

Nice of you to omit the fact that Xbox One launched worldwide on a single date but PS4 launched over a 2-4 week period (launching first in NA, then Europe\Aus\NZ\BR 2 weeks later, then various Middle Eastern countries this past weekend). Hell, the Playstation 4 hasn't even launched in Japan yet--launches Feb. 22nd 2014. From the latest numbers I believe it was established that PS4 sold more units "at launch" despite launching in fewer countries--2.1m+ vs. ~2m.

At a later date than the PS4 and now they are about equal in countries available, and the limiting factor is product availability.

Nice of you to omit that fact bla bla bla.

Does this make your wet diaper feel better?

I would consider availability infinitely more important than launching 1 week earlier. The Xbox One launched on a single date in as many regions as the PS4 has over the past 4-5 weeks. That means there are entire markets that had 2 weeks to buy an Xbox One before getting the option to purchase a PS4. Nothing in that article refutes a single thing I said--that being that they both have sold more than 2m units with the PS4 having a slight edge in overall sales (this is alrgely attributed to the Xbox One having limited appeal outside the USA).

If I had known you were going to whine so much I would have been moe sharp-tongued.
