Thinking about buying this Avexir Core Extreme Green Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-22800C12 2933MHz.
There is almost no chance of me getting it to run at 2933mhz with my 4770K and Sniper 5 MB. Firstly because I know almost nothing about over clocking ram and secondly because I've read in Haswel forums that OC'ing ram with Haswel can be quite tricky.

So my theory is, if I get this ram I have at least got a chance of getting it to run quite fast, anywhere up to 2933mhz. I could potentially end up with it at 2800, 2633 or 2600 or even if I get it to 2400mhz I'd be happy.

What do you think of this idea? Is it worth a shot or should I just get the 2133mhz stuff. The shop has only these two choices and I want this stuff because the green lights suite my rig.

UP to 2800 should be no problem for most CPUs. 2933 or higher can require boosted votlage, and the right BIOS and board.

Personally, I'd go for 2400-2666 MHz stuff myself. Avexir has many sticks that will suit your board esthetically.

Yeah that would be the best way to go but there aren't as many vendors here in the UK. I'll keep looking though. Thanks for reply.

This Avexir seems quite cheep compared to other high speed memory. £174 for 8gig of 2933mhz. 8gig of 2800mhz from Corsair £250. Or £528 for 16gig of 2800mhz Corsair Dominator. The Avexir timings are on par and they come with a life time warrenty.

Yeha, Avexir is positioned fairly decently compared to some other brands, price-wise, but don't forget about G.Skill, either. They make some sticks that'll suit your board well too. Don't forget to check CaseKing for Avexir ram. ;)

Got myself a set of 2*4GB 2400MHz blue led Core Series from Avexir recently.

They seem to be running to expectations, though running them on a A6-3500 made things a bit difficult. :p (Got them to 2368)

Though I was a bit surprised when I saw that the 2 sticks pulsed at different speeds.

I bought 16gig of Avexir core blue 2666mhz. It's a real shame I couldn't get green to match my rig. XMP works fine, but because I got a quad channel kit instead of a duel channel kit some bench scores are great. MaxxMem doesn't see a whole lot of improvement over the Samsung Green running at 2133. I'm still pleased with it though, I've now got 16gig instead of 8gig and the possibility of improving performance after playing around with hit.

You should see the pulsing with 4 sticks! It's good but odd. Sometimes it's as if they are acting like two independent kits.

Real real shame about the colour.
