those were be one of the first high-performance fans... - one of the few high-end options on the market with advanced bearings back in the day and were decently quiet when undervolted... that being said, now there are better fans out there than the Panaflows. I used to have one a few years ago. Quality fans.

A model of San Aces 12x38mm are reputed to be the new fat-boy kings, if you can find them. Scythe ULTRA KAZE is good too, as are the 110CFM Scythe slip-streams.

I bought several of those fans (used) from a guy for like $2 a piece here locally. They move an insane amount of air at 12v but are incredibly loud. I did the 7 volt mod on them and they still move a lot of air and are acceptably quiet. I was thinking that I would replace them in the future when I have more money but I'm actually pretty happy with them. Everything phanbuey said is correct.

Yes, panaflo fans have been around a long time, but are still some damn good fans. I have some of the 38mm med speed that have been running for years.

If you can get some new im pretty sure they will still live up to their name. I used to have 2 as well and they are awesome. Some where down the road i lost them and now use the Sythe Ultra Kaze and Noctuas.

Our own Cyber Druid has a TON of these San Ace fans for sale, Check the FS thread!

Not bad, but the noise might be a bit unbearable if you do not have a fan controller. It's not recommended to plug in high-power fans into your motherboard.

Panaflo are very old very trusty they actually use true fluid dynamic bearing (hydrowave bearing) unlike Sony, they have tremendous static pressure.
